View Full Version : What is the baseline to sell cards now?

I used to enjoy selling cards valued from $1-1000. I’ve lost my desire for sports cards in general. The cards I have are not high dollar cards as I’m stuck in modern(2010-2022) gluttony. Any advice out there?

Send them to COMC and be done with it.

I would find a dealer/repacker that will pay $0.60 on the dollar for all of them.

This, or a reputable consignment outfit if wanting to move them quickly without doing all the legwork listing them yourself on eBay. COMC would potentially net more money but spread over a long time unless someone bought the entre port.

What type of volume and total dollar amount are we talking about?

Yep agree with those above saying sell them as a lot to a dealer. Let them do the work. Using the example of $0.60 on the dollar from above, that seems ideal versus selling these yourself. I think COMC charges $0.50 per card but take it from there. Guessing you will still have to tell them how much you want for each card but once that's done you just wait for your payouts (I think).

It is very easy to sell cards $1-$20 on eBay with the PWE program.
To compliment what has been mentioned prior, dollars back is directly related to the effort/time put in.

Easy but still a lot of work depending on how much you have to sell. I sell a lot of cheap cards this way. I usually list 20-30 at a time. But most of mine end up selling for around $1 which nets around 35 cents per card after fees. Hardly worth the legwork and cost of supplies like printer ink, envelopes, top loaders etc. Not to mention it's a hard to get eyeballs as a small time seller. I have about 100 cards to sell and I'm thinking of sending to DC 87.i think they charge $1 per card but they have the highest volume on eBay and definitely get a lot more per sale for same cards then I can.

Who wants to sell 100 cards at a profit of $0.75 each that took 10 hours minimum to make happen?
What a headache that would be to get paid $7.50 an hour tops.

Another option....sell them in team or set lots to move stuff in volume versus individually.

Burn them

All these ideas are way too much work for literally very little payoff

Nope

If you have to post about it you already know the answer. You are simply in denial

Burn them

He's said it's modern so they're likely toxic and in more ways than one.

Seems like your eBay store is working fine. Just keep lowering the price until they sell. If you’re looking to sell in bulk, you won’t get much for them that way either.

Time = $

That’s the baseline. But everyone solves that equation differently.

If it takes you 10 hours to get 100 cards listed with the software that’s out there, you have issues.

The biggest time suck is taking good photos.

Theres programs that use a scanner to do all the pictures, plus fill in all the info and give you pricing recommendations in minutes for 100’s of cards.
