"The Vedder Cup"

Okay, this is a cool idea. The Seattle Mariners and San Diego Padres are branding their season series to the "The Vedder Cup" (named in honor of the Rock & Roll HOFer Eddie Vedder, who once lived in both Seattle and San Diego).

Winner gets a trophy (designed by Vedder), proceeds go to Eddie & Jill Vedder's Epidermolysis Bullosa Research Partnership.

I love this, and I hope that we can create something like this out of more rivalries.

Very cool! Eddie is a big Cubs fan too. Did the song All The Way before the Cubs won it all.

Yeah, the unofficial Vedder Cup has been around for a while. Interesting tiebreaker rules:




Should the teams split the six games, these tiebreakers will be in play:
1. Run differential: The team that scores the most runs in the series
2. EV (Exit Velocity/Eddie Vedder): If the teams are tied in Run Differential, the winner will be determined by the team with the highest exit velocity on a hit in the series.





Wonder if the trophy will be a "REAR VIEW MIRROR", made of "BLACK" "CORDUROY" :)!
