Sorry if this is a dumb question but I just started collecting with my 7 year old about a year ago. I hadn’t collected since I was around 12 or 13 back in the mid 90s until I started back last year.
These cards all fit together in some way correct? However, if I had say the Aikman Illuminator, would it fit the same way with whatever card it goes with as the Aikman Luminous card would? Or do Illuminators only fit with other Illuminators, Luminescents with other Luminescents, and Luminous with other Luminous?
We are going to use these as our first insert set to try and complete the whole set, and I am just kind of wondering.
Thanks in advance!

The cards fit the same. The version does not effect the die cut

Thank you! I highly doubt we will be “connecting” them but the kid likes the idea. I have 3-4 Illuminators, a few Luminescent, and a few Luminous. Starting out trying to collect all the Illuminators for now! He wants to display them connected, but I’m assuming there’s really no way to do that and to protect the cards at the same time.

Not 100%, but im sure theres a way to protect them connected 95%. And if you both are enjoying them, sometimes thats better than a little value.
If you search long enough, you may find uncut strips. Several have hit the marketplace over the years

Just adding, the creating and execution of a display for the cards that will protect them could be an additional fun tasks and a good time in problem solving.

This is a good point. In the last year we have only purchased to collect, we are not flipping or grading anything. However, we are trying to buy NM cards and then take care of them. I’ve actually enjoyed watching my kid make sure he’s got his cards protected and taking care of them. It’s not like the whole set of Illuminators from that year is worth more than a couple hundred bucks (maybe not even that?) but I do like to take care of our stuff.
I like the idea. We will figure out a way to display them while also making sure they are protected!

Oh yeah. There's tons of value in teaching a child in respecting their possessions for future value. Not just condition, but maintenance and well being as well. I salute you for that.
Hope it turns into a fun project and not a discouraging one! If you guys do create a display, be sure to post it!!!!
And if all that fails, another suggestion is putting them all together one time, taking a picture, and then making a mini poster for him to display. My son does digital art and we get posters made of his favorite work to put in his room.
