2001 Topps Chrome Series One and Two
482200 2001 Topps Series One hobby packs based on Originals Refractor odds (https://baseballcardpedia.com/index.php/2001_Topps_Chrome) (50 total cards at 1:9644 odds)
Retrofractors stated at 1:12 odds
482200 packs / 12 packs = ~40183 total Series One Retrofractors in hobby packs
34883 cards / 330 subjects = ~121 cards per Series One subject in hobby packs

If we double the count to account for retail packs, that brings us to ~240 total Retrofractors per player in Series One.

418600 2001 Topps Series Two hobby packs based on Originals Refractor odds (https://baseballcardpedia.com/index.php/2001_Topps_Chrome) (50 total cards at 1:8372 odds)
Retrofractors stated at 1:12 odds
418600 packs / 12 packs = ~34883 total Series Two Retrofractors in hobby packs
34883 cards / 330 subjects = ~105 cards per Series Two subject in hobby packs

If we double the count to account for retail packs, that brings us to ~210 total Retrofractors per player in Series Two.

2001 Topps Traded and Rookies
This one is easy enough. There are 500 stated Retrofractors per player (https://baseballcardpedia.com/index.php/2001_Topps_Traded_%26_Rookies). Logically, these should go for about half of their S1/S2 counterparts (assuming they exist). Roy Oswalt and Rickey Henderson are the bigger names with a card in Traded and S1/S2. Oswalt's S2 card features 2 other no-names, so it will likely always go for less than his solo Traded version.

2001 Bowman Chrome X-Fractors
1470000 total 2001 Bowman Chrome packs based on Autographed Rookie Refractor odds (https://baseballcardpedia.com/index.php/2001_Bowman_Chrome) (1000 total cards at 1:147 odds)
X-Fractors stated at 1:23 odds
1470000 packs / 23 packs = ~63913 total X-Fractors
63913 cards / 332 subjects = ~192 cards per subject
No retail packs to account for here, so that leaves us with ~192 X-Fractors per player (aligns pretty well with 2x Gold Refractor odds)

Some conculsions
The 2001 Topps Series One Rickey Henderson Retrofractor (#82 - Mariners Uni) should go for about double what his Topps Traded Retrofractor (#T77 - Padres uni) does, based on the print run. This isn't the case! #82 seems to be much more difficult to find, with only one eBay sale in the past 3 years, compared with 7 #T77 sales in the same period.

The 2001 Topps Series 2 Barry Bonds #344 Retrofractor in a PSA 8 (pop 3; 3 higher) sold for $375 in 2024. Barry's 2001 Bowman Chrome X-Fractor in a PSA 9 (pop 9; 2 higher) sold for $188 in April 2025. Roughly the same print run, and accounts for some of the condition sensitivity differences. Subjectively, I think the Retrofractor is better looking. But is it worth double?

2001 Traded got ripped like crazy, so it makes sense that the cards are easier to find than the Series 1 cards. Percentage of cards stuck in packs can affect price. For example, 2022 Sapphire cards sell a bit more than they "should" as much of the product is still sealed.

Also hard to Compare Topps to Bowman for Veterans. Id prefer a TC Rainbow vs a BC Rainbow more often. Especially on 98-03

The entire run of 2001 Topps Chrome Retrofractors have to have been one of the worst sets for centering ever. So many off centered copies T/B and L/R.
