There's one this weekend kind of near me in Oklahoma City. I'm not really into cosplay, gaming, comics, panels, etc. but wouldn't mind going just to see what it's all about.

Is it worth the time if you're not into anime, manga, pokemon? I see there are dealers, exhibitors listed - will there be non-sport cards for sale or is it mostly homemade stuff like you would find at a medieval fair?

Man , I just went to a Philly fan expo last week to get 2 autos and an inscription on my movie posters and a galaxy con last year to get 2 autos on posters as well..they sell 0 non sports cards stuff and all I saw was shirts , masks , pictures , fake play swords and bunch of home made stuff for sale..lot of weird people wearing costumes and looked like a freak show of guys dressed in drag. I was thinking of going to the smaller one at the OKC culture con to get an auto from a guy I rarely see signs .

I've never been to GalaxyCon but I can confidently say that non-sport cards are rarely found in higher-profile, professionally-produced, convention gatherings.

Cons are worth attending if you can discipline yourself that you're going just to see what it's all about.
