What would you cite as the biggest upgrade to 2011 Absolute Memorabilia from years past?
One of the biggest hot buttons for all collectors is on-card autographs and how we can deliver more of them. We absolutely understand and appreciate the importance of that aspect of our products to consumers. That's why the 36 NFL PLAYERS Rookie Premiere guys will have on-card autographs in Absolute for the first time. That's a huge step forward for the Absolute brand and should make what traditionally are among the strongest Rookie Cards on the market even stronger in 2011. Needless to say, we're pretty excited about that development.

Anything else that has you giddy for this thing to come out?
Well, it's no secret that last year's Absolute Jumbo Patch insert was one of the most stunningly good-looking game-worn memorabilia insert sets of all time. Well, it returns in all its glory in 2011, but with added levels of collectability and cool with the Jumbo NFL Shield version. Absolute Memorabilia is one of the most popular football sets on the market every year. This year's version will only serve to strengthen that reputation.

I went out of my way to go check out the Panini America Routing Table as I was leaving the office yesterday evening. I’m glad I did.

As usual, one of my favorite four-legged friends was a wealth of pre-release pearls, including a bevy of first looks at many of the key inserts from the upcoming 2011 Absolute Memorabilia Football. The Panini America Routing Table Runneth Over: 2011 Absolute Memorabilia Football

Being out of town at the 32nd Annual National Sports Collectors Convention for most of last week really impacted my ability to saunter back to the Product Development area to peruse the sneak-peek sensation that is the Panini America Routing Table.
Frankly, I simply couldn’t wait to get back there when I returned to the office today.

What I found was a veritable foretelling feast of previews from the late-September release of 2011 Absolute Memorabilia Football. In the massive gallery that follows, you’ll get in-progress peeks of key Absolute inclusions such as NFL Icons, Tools of the Trade, Marks of Fame, War Room, Ground Hoggs, Absolute Heroes and the gorgeous Absolute Patches Jumbo Prime Spectrum parallels.
Now as always, please keep in mind that all of these design routings are in the early stages of development and could very well change between now and release time. But there’s still not a better place on the planet for first-look purposes.

Previewing the Sickness to Come in 2011 Absolute Memorabilia, Certified Football

A funny thing happened on my way to documenting the packout process for 2011 Timeless Treasures Football at the Panini America printing facility earlier today: I got ambushed by the memorabilia-card brilliance of 2011 Absolute Memorabilia Football and 2011 Certified Football.

Not to worry. I plan on posting plenty of images tomorrow highlighting the quality time I spent with Timeless Treasures. But today, this space is reserved for a selection of spectacular — and, in some cases, filthy — Tools of the Trade and War Room cards that are sure to drop as many jaws now as they will when they’re pulled from packs when Absolute hits at the end of the month.

Promising Rookies Get Updated Treatment in 2011 Absolute Memorabilia Football

Make no mistake about it: Carolina Panthers superstar quarterback Cam Newton is enjoying one of the greatest starts to a career in NFL history.

Through his first four games, Newton has passed for almost 1,400 yards and five touchdowns, rushed for 133 yards and four more scores and he’s been a finalist for Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week honors every week. But football card collectors will likely find Newton’s performance on Wednesday to be his most impressive feat yet.

That’s when he returned to Panini America headquarters what no doubt will be some of the most coveted Rookie Cards of the 2011 season. The awe-inspiring shipment included Newton’s on-card handiwork for upcoming Panini America NFL trading card products 2011 Absolute Memorabilia, 2011 Crown Royale, 2011 Certified and 2011 Gold Standard.

His Absolute Memorabilia gems were rushed to the Panini America printing facility within minutes of arrival for inclusion in that product, which is packing out as we speak. We’ve had the chance to spend a little more quality time with the others. Now, it’s your turn . . .

Panini America On Location: Packout Begins for 2011 Absolute Memorabilia Football

“Rocket.” It’s the term we use inside Panini America headquarters for a product that is poised for an explosive ascent on the secondary market and in customer appreciation. Friday morning at the Panini America printing facility, I had the opportunity to spend some quality time with such a rocket.
Indeed, 2011 Absolute Memorabilia Football is poised for takeoff.

As we speak, one of football’s most venerable and appreciated brands is in the final stages of the production process and will begin shipping to the collecting masses next week. Although I didn’t get to see everything today while our football product development team – Ben Ecklar, Carlos Torrez and Aik Tongtharadol – put Absolute through a rigorous quality control process, I saw enough.

It’s shaping up to be another wildly eventful day here at Panini America, what with 2011 Crown Royale Football, 2011 Adrenalyn NFL and 2011 Justin Bieber 2.0 all releasing and feedback still flowing in on last week’s release of 2011 Absolute Memorabilia Football.
