For the Golf breakers in here... quick question...

for those that can remember or have an idea, how many cases or boxes does a tiger auto fall in the following products?

2001 Upper Deck
2001 UD SPA (i think someone said 1:6 cases before?)
2003 SPGU
2003 SPA
2005 SPA

Thanks!

hmmm some of those are tough to answer ...

I believe rookie autos were about 1@ 1.5 cases so that would make the Tiger about 1@9 cases .... give or take ---

2003 SP Game-used was 1 or 2 per case -- I opened 2 cases and received 4 but I know some cases had only 1 per case ...... these SPGU cases had 2 sealed 6 box cases inside the master case so if someone hit a Tiger in the 1st mini-case so people sold the other sealed so you have to be careful there sometimes .......

2003 SPA I really don't know ....... you don't see alot of the 03 Tiger SOTT's around even 4 years later .....

2005 SPA (if you can find it) were the 1st SOTT ,that I can recall ,where Tiger was'nt a SP ... I remember when it first released that there was no real shortage of Tiger SOTT's popping up on ebay .... wish I'd grabbed some back then :(

The best odds of course were in both 2004 & 2005 SP Signature releases ....those ran constantly at 1@6 boxes HOWEVER in 2004 one of them would have been in the hot box that was 1@case and that hot box was'nt to hard to pick out since that box weighted more than the other boxes ....... so unless you hit the hot box it would drop the odds to 1@11 boxes ...

I opened 4 '05 SP Signature cases and got 8 Tiger autos --- 4 of the ten were serial numbered variations .... back then it was running about $ 117 a box -- $ 1400 a case --- now even try to find a sealed box -- this stuff was heavily shortprinted , as was '05 SP Authentic ....

Hope this helps,
ron

im searching everywhere for 2004 sp signature boxes/cases but its dried up EVERYWHERE lol.

im thinking about taking a chance and scoopin up a couple 01 spa boxes, 03 spgu and maybe a 05 spa box... the only diff i've noticed with golf vs other sports products.. even if you dont hit it big in the box, you could usually sell off everything else to recoup a decent % of the cost... with golf, i dont know if i could do that.. but i guess thats the gamble lol, what do you think, ron?

Yes , 2004 SP Signature cases have definetly dried up the last 5-6 months ... I can remember ripping cases from my local wholesaler at around $ 1100 a case ....
I can recall 1 case that had 4 Arnold Palmer autos , 2 Tigers, 3 Annika's and 1 Tiger double shirt card and 1 triple shirt card plus a Retief Goosen shirt/auto #'d 25 ...
At that time the double/triple shirt cards were super hot and I remember getting full and over book for all of them ..... at that time it was easy to make $ 500-1,000 or more profit on a case and if you hit a super case (like the one above) you'd really make out ..... and that was when the Tiger 8x10 autos were only selling at $ 175-200 range but the shortprint autos and shirt cards were really hot .....
It was and still is a great product ....

As far as golf sales goes yes everything is saleable but like other sports only certain players bring decent money ---- Woods, Sorenstam, Palmer & Nicklaus are the biggest names but Couples , Daly, Mickelson, Garcia , Gulbis, Creamer and a few others also sell at decent prices ..... the problem is that some players only signed 1 or maybe 2 years so you can't find them in every product ( I.E. Daly, Mickelson & Creamer) .....

My personal favorites are both SP Signatures and 2003 SP Authentic with all the LPGA rookie autos ..... that is a great product as well with rookies of Sorenstam, Webb, Gulbis, Davies ,Lopez & Ochoa .... 3 HOF'ers right there and Ochoa's gonna be within the next 2 years ...... 03 SP GU is great as well but you get SO many common shirt cards but if memory serves me right 1@4 boxes were hot boxes with at least 6-7 autos in those boxes ....

I've had the itch for quite awhile to crack some golf products but in all honesty I have so much already that I've been concentrating on HOF/Major champion autos and TTM autos ......
Let us know if you crack anything ---

thanks for your input ron...

have you tried to get tiger to sign either ttm or ip? I've heard he either will not sign anything or certain items due to contractual obligations... do you know which one it is? I really want a tiger for my pc...and know people who live right by major golf courses and would be willing to try to get it IP if he would sign certain items (i.e. UDA or nike, etc)
