Hey, I got a scoop. I better go on BO and post it before someone else does. I'll check to see after I post it to save 5 seconds.
Ooooops, I wasn't the first, DAMN!

thank you Blowout...this has been needed for awhile against UD, i did find it really odd when that policy started in April, *not as far as products go but some of of their ethics in general have always been questioned for a reason" - no offense to anyone & don't mean i hate their products either, just the people that run it lol

Actually, I saw it posted on the Beckett message boards and wondered if anyone was talking about it over here. I saw it posted in the Baseball forum but figured that dozens of people (such as myself) never post in there and, therefore, might not see it. So I posted it here so basketball card collectors could read about it too.
Sorry if that upsets you.

Because the people who look at all sports don't need to see 4 threads with the same topic bouncing around at the same time.

You could have just chosen to ignore it.
Feel free to contact a mod and ask them to delete this thread. I really couldn't give a #@#@#@#@ about the issue to be honest, I just thought basketball card collectors might find it interesting, especially since I sense many people prefer UD to Panini products. Being an international collector, I'm not even able to buy cards from BO anyway, so it makes no difference to me whatsoever.
Either way, no need for you to be a dick about it, is there?

But the people who only look at 1 sport (me for example) won't see it until someone posts here

Does anybody here think something is going to happen out of this? And if so, what?

Wtf, thank you. I actually read the article after Will posted it. I rarely frequent other part of the forum other than bkball sections.
Thanks Will :)!

Are you serious?
Will,
Thanks for posting the article in this forum as I would not have otherwised read it.
At the end of the day Blowout will probably settle with the end result of them becoming an authorized distributor. The case will never go to court, and dealers without deep pockets will continue to suck wind.

Thanks for posting this here, first of all.
The US SC has already ruled that 'minimum pricing policies' are not inherently illegal, and that they are not a violation of Antitrust Law as well.
Obviously, in addition, any manufacturer can choose which retailers they wish to represent them, or not. You can't buy Fendi, Prada, Tiffany's, LVMH, Hermes at Kmart.
Discounters, Monitors Face Battle on Minimum Pricing - WSJ.com (http://online.wsj.com/article/SB122835660256478297.html)
As noted, if UD wished they could simply go after BO for trademark violation claims.
'Brooklyn, N.Y. - Broadway Photo, an online electronics retailer based here, has been prohibited from using Samsung product descriptions and photos following the settlement of a two-year-old lawsuit over unauthorized sales.
The action ...[also] blocks Broadway Photo from selling Samsung products on third-party affiliated marketplaces.'
It would seem...difficult for anyone to sell UD cards without pricing and product information!
[BTW, I would prefer BO have access to UD product obviously!]

-My best guess(not worth much, obviously): This is a settlement-focused case, not a matter of BO sticking up for the little guy. At the end of the day, hopefully it results in wider access to UD products at a decent price point, which can only help UD market share and BO's access to the latest products.
Thanks for posting

Thanks Will for posting that here. I am another one that only looks at the basketball sections since that is all I collect.

Screw UD...
I do believe that thay have the right to choose who can carry their products at the retail level, but eliminating one of the largest internet retailers is not going to help your business.
Just like Blowout can choose not to carry UD product. They don't have any lisences other than NHL anyhow.
