Start to my 2011 Allen & Ginter State Map

After opening my first case ever (2011 Allen & Ginter), I decided to take on the challenge of completing map of the USA. I have 16 of the states so far and 11 out of the 39 pieces. Here are the states/pieces I have.

Maine/Vermont/New Hampshire/Massachusetts/Connecticut/Rhode Island-Piece of the Green Monster
Arkansas-Centennial brick
New York-Foundation from the statue of liberty
Nevada-dirt from las vegas
Oregon-Wood from oregon
Louisiana-piece of silk
Hawaii-Piece of wood from the deck of the USS Missouri
Kansas-brick from Front Street in Dodge City
Indiana-Piece of Wood
Wyoming-Vintage-era wood from yellowstone
New Mexico-Soldier's scabbard used during the indian wars

This is going to be kept for myself. I collect for personal pleasure, not to make a profit. For the past 4 yeaars, I have been collecting PSA signed baseballs, but recently decided to get back into baseball cards. I plan on making a custom display case to hang this bad boy on the wall, when completed.

Didn't hear about this yet but would never trade in my map. It is a real neat promotion though. This makes me think that it might be a good idea to save up my money and start buying states after the bounty is collected.

The price of the states have already drastically come down. Some of them are selling for 45 dollars and the more desirable ones are around 75.

Here is my first picture for you. Sorry about the poor quality. I took this picture with my cell phone because I broke my camera.

There are 11 out of the 39 pieces shown in this picture. I plan on taking a picture every 5 more pieces added on. I spread at the states the best I could to resemble what the finishing map size will look like. A quick measurement has the length being 32 inches and the height being 18 inches.

I plan on making a custom display case when the map is completed. I need suggestion on what to do with Alaska? Where/how should I put it so it doesn't look out of place. Hawaii is a big rectangle shaped card and fits nicely with the other states so far (Look at picture below). However, Alaska(I don't have it yet) looks like its shaped oddly and is going to be a challenge to make it flow with the continental states without having Canada included. Any and all suggestions would greatly be appreciated.

If you're going to make a custom frame for the project, perhaps you could put Alaska where it geographically is and use the empty space at the top to put some sort of a title?

I was thinking about trying to find some sort of old "relic" map of canada but It might be hard to find one that fits what I am looking for.

That's for sure but I want the whole of the USA because I am going to hang it on my wall. It's just going to make me have to use my creative mind to come up with an appealing display case.
