I want to pick up a base 2011 Bowman Bryce Harper Auto, right now the lowest sale on the bay is around $260. With the new wave of Platinum Harpers the price will continue to fall.
What do you think the price will settle at after a couple weeks of Platinum?
also should I wait until Bowman Chrome comes out to buy because the prices will be even lower? if so how low do you see this card going for if he has a very average rest of the year?
Thanks

Honestly, if you are patient enough wait until bowman draft is out by then he'll have a buyback auto in 2010 usa, paper auto in 2011 bowman, chrome auto in 2011 bp, chrome in 2011 bowman chrome and a paper in 2011 draft. Plus it will be the offseason by that time

I think, even though I love the look of the Platinum autos they settle in down the road just under Bowman prices.
Bowman Chrome are going to be the ones to get. Personally if you are just looking for a nice "cheaper" rookie auto I'd go with Bowman if trying to decide between Bowman and Platinum

This week should be a great time to pickup his regular bowman auto, come thursday and friday a lot of his platinum autos will be out on ebay and 90% of collectors will be bidding on those should you should see a considerable drop in the regular bowman auto prices

Yea I was looking at the sell sheet for Bowman Draft and looks like there will be another non chrome harper auto green #/350...so even more supply.
so lots of supply, off season, average stats..perfect storm..might even be under $100 for basic bowman base auto?

I think there is going to be a little bit of a drop off as Topps continues to flood the market with Harper autos. I don't think it's going to be as large as you do since I think the 2011 Bowman auto will still be the more desirable auto as opposed to the platinum auto. I think you will see the same thing happening as with 2010 Bowman Platinum and all the players who had chrome autos. The chrome autos were always more and have remained more desirable. I think the same thing will happen here. I mean, this is the third product with a Machado auto, I wouldn't be surprised to see base ones selling below $20 at some point.
