I have had it for years. I don't do baseball but have a bunch of baseball cards I'm listing in a lot and have no idea if this is worth anything at all. Thanks guys.

i dont know where you got that one but that signature does NOT look real.. unless it was an early sig of his (since the way people sign can change through the years).. is there a date on that COA?

It looks like the COA is just authenticating it is a 24 Karat Gold Signature card produced by Front Row.

If I'm not mistaken, the autograph is in 24kt. gold, so the COA is meant to authenticate the gold leaf, not the autograph itself.;)

That's what I am getting from it as well. I have just had it forever and didn't know anything about it. I'm getting ready to throw it on ebay with some other baseball cards

weaksauce!

oh well. throw it up on ebay anyways, there are a lot of crazy Griffy Jr collectors that will spend an absurd amt of money on his cards.

That isn't even produced by Front Row, that was made in someone's basement on Long Island... I'm not saying anything else.

I know who was involved. That isn't 24K gold either. Its foil.

Well seeing you know so much about the card. Where was it made and by who? I really don't care if its foil or 24 K gold or titanium for that matter. I didn't mean to ruin your day over asking for an opinion on this card. Heres the back of the card. If Front Row didn't make, who did?

Then I'd say the mystery person who created this card did a decent job. If you know the person who made it, why don't you ask him/her to shed some light on this card for Marino5084.

Marino5084--As I looked in my Beckett Almanac, they have a 10-card "Griffey Club House" set listed by Front Row from 1992. Your card seems to fit the description except for a couple of differences.

Your card has gold "foil" on the front and the description doesn't state anything about that. Also, the book states there are 25,000 sets produced, which doesn't match the 4,000 as stated on your COA.

There is a "Griffey Gold" set also listed as a 3-card set, but the description of that set doesn't match the design of your card.

IMHO I would say Front Row produced this card as a special offer, either by itself or as part of another set (since your card is #3). I'm not sure if this helps but it should provide you with a start.

BTW--It's great to see other Dolphin fans on this forum.:)

Thank you for the info and your time in researching it. That's more than I had to go on. As I stated it was tucked in a collection along with an on card auto of Tom Seaver both by Front Row. The Seaver is an actual auto. I've just always wondered what it was. I found it again as I was putting together a baseball lot for Ebay.

Oh ya Go Fins

No problem, I'm glad I could help. Your Seaver auto. card should bring some interest for a Mets or Seaver fan. Good luck!!

The back is different, way different from what the Long Island crew was doing. Those were the guys who made those crazy Shaquille O'Neal gold signature cards and the 1986 Donruss Jordan rookies.

Maybe Front Row did make this one. The Long Island crew didn't use UV coating on their stuff until 1996. By then, the guy had shot over to Northern New Jersey somewhere and was doing team sets and the like for little league teams. I don't think the Long Island bunch thought they were doing anything wrong printing these things, which is why I'm not saying who they were, but these cards were definitely not licensed.

There was another group of folks making these "promo" cards in the early 1990s too. They are the group that made the 1988 Topps Griffey card (yes 1988 design, unlicensed).

This card I haven't seen. Its possible Front Row did make it. They were printing minor league cards under a minor league license, so they may have gotten him in a minor league uniform and that made it kosher. Interesting trot down memory lane.
