Hi,

Looking for pricing advice. Sending 1,000 cards up. When sending base cards, for the most part they are going to be 25 cents or less and I could care less when they sell because I'm not paying a penny a month for them.

What BV does a card have to have for you to list it for more than a quarter?

Thanks,

KD

K- you can't reduce a card by more than 95%.. The system will tell you to specify a price over .xx

just keep in mind you paid .10 to post

My cards are due up this week. I'm figuring if its a buck and under its heading for .25, 2 bucks will head for .50 and so on. But figuring on starting everything at 75% off and working it from there.

Base cards go as low as the system allows. Numbered inserts and RCs you can start at 70-75% of book right out of the gate. A bunch will move quick and the others that sit or a week or two start slashing.

That is pretty much what I have done with all 3 shipments. The first few days I sell alot then its 1 or 2 a day then it really declines and its time to slash. Also I accept most offers. I figure I would rather take the $2 for a $3 card than have it sit there.

Good Luck

I've taken a different approach with the last shipment that I sent in. Set most of the stuff to 50-60% off, but left some as low as 20% off. They have been live for almost 2 weeks now and I've made almost as much on 10 or so cards as I did with my first shipment that all sold around 75% off. I'm going to give it a few more days before I start cutting prices to see if I can eek out a couple more higher $$ sales. Also, I've noticed that hockey RC's and numbered cards are starting to sell a little better.

Since you have a couple of months before storage fees hit on new cards I would not start them too cheap (e.g. 90% off). This will give the player collectors/set fillers the chance to scour your merchandise. Big markdown sales are typically to folks that are flipping the cards.

When does the storage fee come into effect?

From the COMC Website regarding storage fees:

Free for asking prices of 25¢ or less
Free for first 90 days w/ original owner

Also, with regards to storage fees... baseball starts soon. you may be able to sell some of that inventory as the season gets closer or during WBC mania before the storage fees take effect which I believe is either March or April 1st.....

I would be wary of sending in to much FB at this time

I need to get it out of here though, so I'm sending all four sports. I figure I'll have two 1,000 count lots at the beginning.

I can't wait for the WBC btw, that was so fun last time.

I think you can bypass the 95% limit if you sign in and click on the actual card you want to price over 95%. Then click manage price and it should allow you to price as low as you want. I believe the restrictions are only set in the manage inventory function on your dashboard. They may have changed this since the last time I tried.

It does work that way. Priced a Jerome Bettis RC below 95%. Someone should go and get it.

I really need my other shipment to post. I am running out of cards again.
