Damn The Rangers got raped on this traded. Great pickup for the Orioles.

Agreed. The Rangers needed to pick up an arm but not give one away in a trade and then on top of that basically give Davis away. Stupid move for the Rangers, great move for the O's.

Mixed feelings as a HUGE oriole fan....koji is an amazing pitcher, but for only about two more years Chris Davis is another f'ing prospect that will never do anything for the O's and Tommy Hunter is good but injury prone
Only time will tell who fared better

Rumor is D. Lee will be moved so C. Davis is a good fit at first for the O's. How do you see Uehara as amazing? Am I missing something? I think the O's came out of this one way ahead.

Chris Davis is horrible against Left Handers, and He strikes out way too much. Hell go great with Mark Reynolds. That being said, Hes still hitting .368 which isnt easy.
I did like Tommy Hunter though.

Koji has a 1.70 ERA and has the highest strikeout to walk ratio since....1890!!!!! And he hasn't allowed a run in 15 consecutive innings...nuff said.
(1890 is correct, was not an error!)

Stop it. You sure you want to go with this on a RP with a very limited amount of innings pitched?

Koji relies very heavily on the location of his pitches (fastball & splitter). He does not have premium velocity sitting 90-91mph. The only reason his numbers are so good is due to the fact that he can locate his pitches which induces swings and misses. I'd still take a guy with premium velocity and stuff any day of the week though. Will be interesting to see if they give Davis the chance to play everyday. He's certainly shown he can mash at AAA and I think they should give him the a full season of at bats. Value wise what they (the Rangers) gave up is pretty good to get Koji as opposed to what they would have given up for Heath Bell.

Long term...probably better for the O's but at the moment definently In the ranger's favor.
As a Rangers fan, I think Texas overpaid. Hunter has been dominant in the own since he was activated and put in relief. Best case scenario, the pitchers cancel each other out. Davis to me is where Texas overpaid. Given ABs in Baltimore, I think Davis will be a big bat for the Orioles.
