good deal for them as long as they dont give Perez or Profar up. Bell and Uehara will revamp their bullpen

Either way not too sure why they'd give up Wieland

Pretty steep price for a RP.

Exactly what I was thinking, that Wieland kid is 4-0 in the minors.

finally a decent trade by the padres. I still think they move Bell though to another team.

Rangers get raped Yesterday on the Tommy Hunter/Chris Davis for Uehara and today they get raped again, Robbie Erlin/Joe Wieland for Mike Adams. Rangers are off loading alot of their better prospects for washed up players.

Mike Adams is washed up? As in Mike Adams whose era has been under 2.00 for three years?
Adams would be a better acquisition than Bell cause hes under team control next year where as Bell is a free agent. Adams is 3-4 years younger than Bell also. Either way, thats two trade in two days, and as a Ranger fan I think they overpaid for both.
Atleast Texas didnt include the top tier prospects, Profar, Martin Perez and Tanner Scheppers.

Must be because he's a reliever huh? Opinions vary but I'd rather have a little younger blood on the mound than a little older one!

How does being a reliever make you washed up?

I'm saying being a reliever is why he has had a 2.00 era over last few years!! Doesn't make him washed up no but it's make you play a little less thus a less ERA.

?????
Mike Adams is *arguably* the best reliever in the NL, as well as the best setup man in MLB.

Well like I posted before "opinions vary" & you being a Padres fan & me a Rangers fan I'm pretty sure they differ. Can we agree on that at least??

@ Enginedown-to bad the NL didn't keep him since the "best reliever" gave up the game winning homer against the Tigers last night!!!

Adams is 33, Heath Bell is 33. I don't know where you got that Adams is 3-4 years younger than Bell lolololol
I do think its a solid trade because Adams is great.

What I think is interesting is why some pitching coaches have players try certain pitches and others don't. Adams was with Milwaukee at some point and they eventually ended up releasing him. He goes to San Diego and learns to throw a cutter and suddenly he's a beast. You'd think more coaches would look at examples like this and look to see where they can improve players.

Btw Erlin pitched 6 shutout innings with 6K's in his debut with the padres organization last night
