Remember a few weeks ago when I posted about a seller accepting my BO on a card then sending me a higher invoice ?
To summerize, seller accepted BO of $55.00 DELIVERED, sends me invoice for $59.00 and ignores all my emails asking him to correct the total since paypal wouldn't let me do it myself.(even longer story with that) I get his contact info and he ignores my 2 phone calls. Since I really wanted the card I gave in a paid the $59. I got the card a few days ago and he left me + feedback.

The $4. extra isn't the big deal, its just the principle of accepting a number and honoring it even if you have second thoughts. It seems pretty obvious to me that he had no intentions of honoring the $55. BO that he accepted and only sent the card because I gave in a paid the extra money.

He has 100% positive fdbk BUT does he deserve it after a J.O. move like that ? A few years ago I'd of probably already left him a negative with a "thats for being an ahole" note attached. Today I'm thinking of just saying the hell with it and not leaving any feedback at all.
What feedback would you leave him, if any ?

i prob would leave a neutral..hiopefully he leaves feedback first.

i used to be cheap on shipping..now i dont care anymore. ive stopped charging for shipping across all of my auctions.

He already left him feedback. I don't know what I would have done. I wouldn't have paid extra in the first place :D but I get that you really wanted it.

I would ask for the $4 back, and if he ignores you, then I would leave a negative saying you got charged more than the listing stated. I would not threaten him with negative feedback. I would leave it as a matter of course if he did not refund the money.

More importantly, ding his star ratings when you leave the feedback, no matter what you do.

So was your Best Offer $55, and in the additional terms box, you put including shipping? I ask, since I am pretty sure the best offer feature says you can't alter the shipping terms. So if you meant to do $55 including shipping, you should have offered only $51?

Of course, that doesn't explain why he ignored your repeated e-mails and phone calls. If you still feel strongly about the issue, then go ahead and give him a neutral or negative and state the seller ignored multiple e-mails and phone calls.

Leave him the negative. If he has a problem with it and contacts you, tell him you'll agree to a mutual withdraw, but that it will cost him the $4 he extorted out of you.

Block him as a bidder on your auctions before you do this.

I would leave him a neutral and would be sure to say charged extra, ignored emails and phone calls. And like Jug said give him the lowest stars. People need to know. To me its never about the dollar amount but its the point. What if he has been doing this to others. You have nothing to lose as he has already left your feedback and must think because of that you wont do anything to him.

I wouldn't leave a negative, but I would leave a neutral. He didn't live up to his part of the deal. Make others aware of it by leaving a neutral and the lowest star ratings and move on to better things.

I was wondering about that also. If you make an offer you are agreeing to pay that price plus shipping. If you were to contact Ebay they would point that out to you. Your only beef should be with the lack of communication.

I think you've got 2 options IMHO ...

Actually I was just gonna say leave a neutral with a bit of an explanation why but then as I was starting to type I really think I'd probably just not do anything and just forget about it ....

The only thing you might do is email the guy explaining your thoughts (again) and tell him if he does'nt refund or send you the $ 4 that you will leave a negative ....
You do have abit of leverage since he left you positive already ...
I understand that it's the principal of the thing since I had something like this happen to me about 3 weeks ago .... bought 2 items at the smae time but the invoice showed 2 seperate shipping charges instead of what he told m the combined shipping would be ---contacted the guy and had him re-send me a invoice and it took 2 tries but he finally did get it to show the correct shipping ....

Just one final follow up because this guy turned out to be a real "winner". Decided to leave him a VERY KIND NEUTRAL today and much to my surprise:rolleyes:here come the emails and the nasty follow ups from him. I of course replied in kind but it just cracks me up how he actually thought he deserved a positive for this transaction after being such a J.O.

BTW - just to clear up something, when doing a BO, I always click on ADDITIONAL TERMS under the BO box and include shipping in my offer. For example, in this case, my offer was $55.00 DELIVERED. I think thats the best way to do it so there can't be any additional charges because I clearly state the EXACT AMOUNT I want to pay DELIVERED. Been doing it ever since fleabay started BOs and never had a problem until this "winner".

Anyway, I emailed him and said I received the card but was not happy with the fact that he ignored numerous emails about him over-charging me. I said I was kind of surprised based on his 100% fdbk rating that he would pull something like that. I said if I didn't hear from him in 24 hrs. I would have to decide on my own wether to leave him a neutral or a negative. AMAZINGLY, he emails me back in LESS THAN AN HOUR and says he never got any of my other emails (but he got this one pretty fast) and that I probably should have sent them thru ebay for him to get them. He also said he never noticed my offer was for $55. delivered. Right there I knew he was full of sh*t because I sent him emails through ask seller a question and request payment amount PLUS sent 2 to his email address which he states in his invoice to use to contact him with any questions. He says he sold around 10 with BIN BO and my offer was the lowest that he accepted and if I wasn't happy to send him back the card and he would then refund my money. Obviously the guy is a liar with the whole lost emails story so I find it funny that he expected me to trust him and send him back the card first ? Guess he would take it back since he could then probably sell the card for more money. Pretty obvious he had second thoughts and didn't want to sell me the card in the first place after he accepted my offer and then higher offers started coming in later for the rest of the cards in the listing. All he kept writing in two different emails was to send the card back, send the card back. No sorry for the mix-up or how about I refund the $4.

Again, mocha926 is his fleabay id - good luck if you ever send him a BO that he accepts then decides it was too low.

I am glad to hear that you left him a neutral and tough sh*t if he didnt like it. I get so tired of people trying to squeeze every ounce they can. This guy deserved it and thank goodness he was stupid enough to leave your feedback first. It seems like some people think that if they leave you good feedback you wouldnt dare leave them anything but good in return.

First, sorry to bump this subject back up, someone just told me about this thread.

As for the OP, who submit the BO with a note saying shipping included, which I did not read, I believe most sellers will not read what the message attached to the offer, they just see what's been offered. WHY didn't you submit an offer which will add up to what you want to pay?

As for your emails, I stated in all of my auction, that use Ebay message and I will reply, I return your message as soon as I saw it, all the emails weren't read coz it went straight to junk mail.

Thanks for calling me out on a public board and yes, my feedbacks speaks for itself, why don't you tell people to look at your feedbacks and see what kind of person you are. BTW, thanks for you neutral feedback.

All I know, you were offered a full refund which you DID NOT wish to do, why the heck are you complaining?

***As for the OP, who submit the BO with a note saying shipping included, which I did not read***
YOU must be kidding you do`nt read whole offer ??`
I always on a BO offer state DELIVERED to zip 01701
mocha926 is it not your responsibly to read the complete offer is it not a binding contract ??
Then and after the fact offered a refund.....
Then you try to compare feed backs as a last stand in your defence...
Its water over the dam now but I feel you used poor judgement not reading the complete offer
Just my .02 cents

I'm not taking sides here, but when you make a best offer on ebay it clearly states on the best offer page shipping costs are non-negotiable, so if the seller has a shipping price stated then the whole "x price delivered" is not-allowed per ebay, you would just need to make the offer for what you are willing to pay minus the stated shipping.

No I'm not kidding that I do not rea dthe whole offer, have you notice Ebay would not allow you to enter any message after the offer? Have you ever read shipping fees for each auction?

Maybe you should do what is right and offer the actual price which not include the shipping fees, right?

Then and after the fact offered a refund.....

I offered full refund if he/she wasn't happy, what did I do wrong here?

Then you try to compare feed backs as a last stand in your defence...

I brought up the feedback situation coz the OP mentioned it first.

I have a feeling that you have no clue what's going on, please make sure that you know what you are talking about before you make any comment.

This topic is over with and hope this does not turn to a big debate. Mocha, thanks for stopping by to voice your opinion and now that both sides have spoken and this transaction happened almost 6 months ago, I think we can all move on and learn from this...

I was wondering WHY this poped up again ? After all those months you come on here to start some more ? My feedback speaks for itself as well, whats your point ?

Mocha - check your feedback as to "the kind of person you are ?" The kind of person you are is one that accepts an offer than tries to worm his way out of it because he sold the card too cheap. Your also the kind of person that sends childish emails with alot of tough talk (funny how you failed to mention that). You offered a refund because you didn't want to complete the transaction in the first place. Did you REALLY expect positive feedback after the ahole move you pulled ? You should be thanking me for not leaving you a negative like alot of other people would.

Don't come on here with more BS and waste space.

BTW - if it makes you feel better, I flipped the card I got from you for a nice profit then after the season picked up two just like it for about the same amount as I sold yours for. Feel better ? I know I do.
