Hey Guys heads up , Jordan23 has graced these forums just want let everyone he is the infamous Ebay Shiller/Thief etc.... From Sydney Australia we have been seeing over the last few months.

He is banned on Ozcardtraders , HobbyKings and is under investsgtion pending ban on Sports card Forum.

He is notorious on Ebay for multiple accounts , shilling auctions , Pulling back on sales on ebay if his price is not reached, Tried to thieve ( he actually nearly walked out till a guy grabbed him and he stated oh i forgot i had it :rolleyes: ) MJ Auto at the Local card show from a fellow Collector .


We have to protect the community/awarness as he does not belong in our hobby community due to his pathetic actions he has displayed over the years so watch out don't be sucked in with this guy as he has a long record and would not be banned on many smajor sites if he is a good honorable person/trader.

The whole thing just stinks! They're ruining the Jordan inserts imo. Do I think that Jordan inserts would have gone to crazy prices some day? Sure I do! But not this soon this fast, do to scammers... Why hasnt that Jordan RED Pmg moved on ebay sitting at $14,999? I mean by your standards and trending, this card should easily be worth $25k by now. It doubled in price in 6 months. Last one sells for 11k no problems.

Gonblott moved his other PMG JOrdan to another collector on HK yet no price is revealed. I bet you any money it wasnt for anything close to $11k either.

And dont bother trying to justify its grading to me like that schlep M1000 did. There is no way in hell this grades at bgs 8.5 or better with that amount of chipping on it.

Gets $12k for it. Ironically every time Gonblott listed this card, he never got anything close. So now we have 2 cards sold for $12k plus both from HK with no idea on who bought them. Yet we have another one thats sitting on ebay and im pretty sure hes not getting anything close to $12k for his. Does that make you question anything?

Link 3 - Sold an MJ Master set. Refunded the buyer and sold it again for more. (Is this a scam? Because I see it done a ton on ebay every day. The buyer had money stolen from him? Yet he was refunded? I dont get how he ripped off this buyer? Explain to me where the buyer lost his money?)
Link 4 - Wegotstock bought cards from this person. Wegotstock broke the rules of ebay and didnt pay. At best its a NPD.

4 Links. 4 occasions of not one person losing their money. Not one stolen card and non payment. Not one fraud case.

Im not saying this dude isnt shady. All im asking for is where he is guilty of scamming someone? Taking their money and ripping someone off? Im having a hard time finding it in those links. Can you help me?

This thread got out of hand because you are trying to prove there are scammers out there while trying to justify ending prices done by scammers. It defeats the purpose. sorry to be someone butting in but this comment is absurd. Post a mailing day, bragging about your collection, trading, showing a box break is anything but a hype move.

What is happening with these MJ cards is beyond shady and is most likely going to implode. You have guys who dont want to disclose info but then when a price goes thru they want everyone to know about that. People recording and talking about record sales at every chance they get and cards that are clearly shilled and people that have been pumping cards the cards up for a few years now. The funny thing is how people are trying to defend the prices because they have been rising for a few years and it cant be a bubble. I have brought this up on other forums but most people dont seem to grasp the concept of liquidity and last price doesnt mean market price.

Either way, prices will adjust just like they always do and some people are going to be burned.

The only sellers I know who sold the PMGs are 23jordanx and redskinswizards, and I have NO IDEA who they are, or who bought them. I think redskinswizards showed it off on HK, before he sold it.

You see an auction with an ending price and automatically assume thats the new going rate. It just so happens that these record setting prices are made by the same group of people all the time. If you dont want to question that, then you are taking it for face value. Just like Mike does.

The thing you have to understand is, PMGs have been popular among among Hardcore 90's collectors for years, what difference does it make if I own a Kobe PMG or not? I know he re neged on a deal for a master collection but didnt steal the guys money. He refunded it and sold it to someone else. Nothing like being apart of a society where the top tier rule. In the same sense they do it to the market place. Collectively certain people manipulate the market by selling to one another to set a market price. Then they use that market price (False price as its been fixed via collusion) to sell off what they have. If you ever question it, they will threaten you with anything and everything to get you to shut up. If they pull shady moves, its ok because their peers agree with them. But if anyone else does it, you are shunned and banished. LOL. THey pick their mods based on friendship more than technically. Half the mods know nothing about cards and the other half doesnt even collect. if you befriend certain people they automatically make you a mod. Simple as that. Plus they ran array when some mods even took advantage and stole from people (Odenecollector??)

I like HK a lot but cant access it during the day, why i came over here. Every site has their share of problems but for me two things are unacceptable: scamming, shilling anything of the sort, and just being a total a-hole to others. If that becomes the norm I am out, no matter what site it is because I dont want to deal with that garbage. I have been collecting hard core since 97 and i dont have the best collection but really enjoy the hobby and things like that are a big turn off.

I dont think Joe owns the site. Sdouble (Josh) does. HK is poorly run site. THey stick like mob mentality. They set rules and standards all depending on your wealth in sports cards. If you have a huge collection worth $$ or your crapping money theyll give you a pass on their site to do whatever you want. You can go unchecked all day long. HK is awesome Some sick cards there and most people are great , But i understand what you mean in regards a certain "Arrogance" on the site with a few hero's that think they are gods due to there collection .

Sadly in todays world, people think their knowledge is based on the value of their collection. Just because you have a $$$ value collection doesnt make you a superstar. Nor does it make you the be it end all of hobby knowledge. But to each their own.

I actually favor those who collect for the sake of collecting and are focused on the same player/set for a long time. Fullmetal is an example. Through and through a spurs collector. Big or small, he collects for the love of the spurs. He doesnt go out of his way to say hes got $$$ invested into a big card or much less belittling someone for not having as much invester into their collection. Or guys that collect semi stars or less valuable players when it comes to hobby stardom. I love how they focus on cards and not the hype behind sets/players.

Talking about gambling sickness? Ive got it. But no longer for sports cards. IM a borderline addicted gambler in casinos and sportsbetting. LOL. Ill consider myself a degenerate the day I cant afford to pay the bills. Umm hopefully that never happens!!

Those who always contend me for sales and legitmacy of them always mix up my senitments.

Ive never said the actual sale on ebay isnt legit. I said the price it ended for was a sham. So the sale may go through but the prices they end at are what bugs me. These prices are artificially set. So yes they can be legit like Mike and Jeebus may say, but in reality they arent because the ending price is based on some sort of manipulation which throw doubt into the ending price. If that makes sense lol.

Mike claims that the market value of a card is determined by the ending price of an auction. By saying that he is basically telling us that when a select few buyers (2 or 3 of them) are willing to shell out huge dough for a certain card, that we must take this as the new market value. False. Just because 3 people are willing pay that prices doesnt mean that the rest of the market is willing to pay that price. These 3 people are setting the market value based on their assumption of what they will pay, not everyone else. Its the same example of 2 people chasing the same set that go into a bidding war over one card. That card ends unusually high because the 2 people went to war and were determined to get that card. Then we'll see another one listed and it doesnt sell for anything close. The case is closed and its been determined that the one that sold for a large price was an anomoly. Why cant we do the same here on PMG reds? Its always the same few people bidding the same amount

But what makes this recent PMG red Jordan activity different is the fact that we have seen 5 or 6 of them recently show up for sale. Out of the 5 or 6, its been the same sellers and buyers either buying or listing. Then we see one pop out of nowhere for sale by a different seller. But that seller cant move his while sitting on ebay for long time. Yet when an individual that is known to have traded/bought/sold this card in the past lists his... he gets top record breaking dollar for his. How is that possible?

How is it that the same card can show up for sale (PMG red jordan) but certain bidders will not bid on it yet they will come out to play when a certain seller lists it?? Why do some bidders not even try and put in bids on all other PMG red Jordan?? yet they will go gangbusters if its listed by certain individuals? Thats the question Im asking. they will go on a frenzy bidding war and lose out at $11.5K but wont attempt even bidding $5k on another one listed. that makes no sense to me at all.

Then theres the whole situation on verifying bidders and ending prices. People now assume that if a bidder has 1000+ feedback that his bid is legit. How do we know? it could be a friend of the sellers. The feedback rating has no baring on whether its a shill bid or a legitimate bid. Just because 3 bids were in the $8K ++ mark by high feedback guys doesnt mean it would have sold at that price. For all we know it gets relisted.

One sold for $11k. Then mini sea listed his for $15k. In that time Redskins lists his and its automatically sold for $12k. He relisted it because the guy didnt pay. If we didnt keep on m1000 blog and questioned it... he would have listed that as a confirmed sale. That adds to the price manipulation. All these guys keep listing in their description as to how much the last one sold for $xxxx. Did it really sell for that much and should they be using that as a guage to how much theirs will sell for?

The reason why this hobby has been taken over by investors and speculators is because its unregulated. The collectors have been driven out and now are replaced by investors. These investors have moved out of the monkey markets and stocks. They have moved into this billion dollar industry now. Its unregulated, hard to tax and easy to flip to make a dollar. What other market lets you buy and sell high dollar and volume without having to report it on your income tax? (just recently with ebay but what about shows? private deals?). You can break rules, bend the laws in an unregulated market. You can manipulate prices, collude all day long and nothing will happend to you. The same cannot be said about regulated markets.

The average collector has been replaced by the investor/speculator. They love money, not cards.

I think our perceptions maybe somewhat subjective. These forums are dominated by a culture of working class/professional adults. Seldom do you see (on basketball forums at least) the younger generation of collector posting mail days of base cards and less expensive items. And if they did there wouldn't be much interest by forum members. This trend is reinforced by the types of things which are most discussed here: Maildays of cards that are the "sickest" generate a lot of buzz. I don't think it's much of a coincidence that this term "sick" can be equated to its monetary value. But since we live in a capitalist society everything translates back into money.

Are the speculators ruining the hobby? For a collector who enjoys expensive cards yes definitely because prices are being driven to irrational levels because of them (and they don't even enjoy the cards like they do). But for a collector who doesn't buy pricey cards I don't think it really affects them much at all. If anything, speculators make less desirable cards widely available for cheap for certain collectors. Without the speculator, who would throw all the money at busting the type of wax that comes out in the marketplace these days? NT, Gold Standard, Exquisite, Black: those are all products targeted at speculators foremost.

I agree and that is a real shame. Cards in and of themselves are beautiful mini portraits of our heroes! I think kids today are being robbed of the sheer joy and excitement of simply opening up a pack! The adrenaline rush that comes from utter anticipation of that "BIG" pull!!! Hobbies are wonderful for people of all ages actually and there is absolutely nothing wrong with certain cards being valuable! For example I have NO problem once so ever with a 1986 Fleer Jordan RC BGS 10 selling for 100K and I don't question the legitimacy of the sale one bit! That card is absolutely historic and if rich, I definitely wouldn't mind paying that! MJ was the athlete of the century and a real life superhero in his day! My disgust is when these "investors aka CROOKS" start manipulating prices so that the regular Joe like me can no longer even DREAM of owning certain high end cards! Add'l disclosure - I own 2 basketball cards and they are $1 Celtics GU jersey cards of my wife's favorite player Brian Scalabrine. I'm a baseball collector and have no worthwhile insight to add to the debate of whether or not shady practices involving MJ inserts is going on.

A lot of people in the hobby now only care about the money and are borderline or outright scammers, who would readily rip off an 8 year old that walked up to their booth. Whenever these dealers find out I am a stockbroker (doesnt really mean anything) a lot of these guys always tell me how they made all this money investing in real estate, stocks, day trading yada yada yada, but just decided to do cards for a living because its
easy and I am always thinking "yeah right, you are here because you couldnt make it as a penny stock scammer." Its the same in all collectibles. My dad used to collect coins heavily and he has some crazy stories. It really just hurts everyone in the industry though.

Why do you assume I know ALL these MJ collectors?

There's only a couple of hardcore MJ collectors I've actually talked too, and I really don't even know those people all that well, outside of the fact that I know they are very good members. And one I know NEVER sells anything, and the other one only sells if he's able to upgrade his pc. I'm also very good friends with a hardcore 90's insert collector, WHO DOESN'T COLLECT MJ, but like that first person I mentioned, he never sells anything and only collects for PC. That's it (I could pm you these members if you want).

I mean, you do realize Michael Jordan is the most popular basketball player in the Hobby right? So you could only imagine how many collectors there are of him. So it's absolutely impossible for someone like me to know them all.

Can you tell me how you determine the other two bids over $4k to be legit? What you base their legitmacy on?

If I have no intention to buy a card but put in an offer of $4k, would that make my bid legit as well? Im pretty sure sound and intel had it listed on ebay a bunch of times then he takes it off. Now he moves it to a buddy who lists it and hopefully he can pawn off this badly chipped card for record breaking prices. That chipped up jordan red pmg wasnt going to sell for big dough as people noticed the shape in correlation with seller. So why not move it to a buddy and see if he can pawn it off for record prices.

Gonblott and Redskins are both Members on HK , Gonblott supposedly sold him that card he is auctioning on ebay and Gonblott is bidding on the card, which shows what OJ and Sports up cards are saying is true about friends bidding on each other auctions lifting the prices therefore creating a false market price of the card.
That's why the last recorded PMG red Sold for around the $4-5K mark and always did as that was it's peak then all of a sudden it sells for $11K doubled in six months and guess what most of the sales are associated with these dudes.

Now he moves it to a buddy who lists it and hopefully he can pawn off this badly chipped card for record breaking prices. That chipped up jordan red pmg wasnt going to sell for big dough as people noticed the shape in correlation with seller. So why not move it to a buddy and see if he can pawn it off for record prices.

Its labor day long weekend. I chose not to go away this long weekend. Im at home and my wife is watching a sappy movie. So im on here killing time before bed.

Putting a card in your watchlist will not allow you to see the final price and the winner of the auction. Only bidding will do that.
