2011 Marquee box you have to see to believe

Long story short i am out of my area and happen to pass a card shop and stop in, as i am itching to break a box of Marquee. So I walk in and there is this guy, clean cut, in a suit, swearing like a banchie, lol, and I see him slap his knee as i get closer look I realized what he was doing........you will see down below, lol

I was shocked but it was also funny to see, I actually decided to stay away from the other box and went with another topps chrome and scored again with a

yeah i actually thought it was a better than average break from what I have seen, i didnt say a word, he paid and walked out, the owner said he is a big wax guy who spends alot and it is a common routine with him, lol, i grabbed them, maybe take the chance to send them into topps, who knows maybe they will replace them.

I get that he was upset about the hits, but that is just stupid! He could have sold those for at least $65-$75. I guess if you are rich it doesn't matter though.

He took all 4 and just cracked them over his knee, dropped them on the counter, mumbled some stuff about you cant even pull a 20.00 card in a 60.00 a pack Topps product, paid and walked out

From what you're saying it seems like they were messed up by Topps, but it would make wayyy more sense for him to have done it himself. All of those are packed individually... and any crushing like that would have been VERY obvious. I don't think sending in stuff he ruined is going to do anything haha

lol, I just walked in as he was in motion, lol, all the base were bent in half as well, but just grabbed the hits. The crazy thing is, he didnt have the demeanor of a crazy out of control type if you follow, more like I just blew 240.00, lol damn, and left.

Not necessarily. You've got to admit that those four cards do not equal anywhere near $200 worth of value.

Wow, surprised how many people misunderstood (or just didn't read) and thought the cards came like that. I don't think you'd have any luck sending them to Topps and obviously it would be dishonest. I would totally post this on their Facebook page or something with the story.

lol, YES, that is exactly what happened, he opend the 4 packs, put the 4 hits together and took one big crack on his knee, bent them to heck, paid and left, the owner chuckled and said it happens once in awhile with him, said if you want them they are yours, which of course i snagged them up, and laughed myself a little, lol

Its more like Topps doesn't care about its customers. Who is that Pirates guy with the on card auto? Martin Prado sticker auto patch? outside of about 30 people in Georgia, who wants him? Roy Halladay, no auto and old jersey? ANOTHER Kyle Drabek insert, he is in just about every 3 boxes of Topps products this year and he has not done anything yet except be the son Doug. Its more like Topps should just open a Casino because they put some real trash in these products and they know it. Sure this guy could squeeze out a few dollars, maybe $30-40 selling these on Ebay but when you have $200 to spend on a box of cards it is probably not worth your time to scan and list the cards, stay on slow payers and make trips to the post office and get Delivery Confirmation etc. He probably is a big baseball fan and doesn't want to be a part time ebay baseball card dealer and just wants fair value for his $$.

hahah that is hysterical, I mean yeah it was bad break but what did this guy expect? Thats the risk you take when gambling in this hobby, anyways he shouldnt have destroyed them like that. If money isnt an issue for him, and its obviously not, he could have atleast not destroyed them and left them behind for the owner to give to another customer, especially a young kid walking in would have loved to get 4 gu/autos cards out of a product for free. I mean yeah he could have sold them and got some money back here, but money obviously isnt important to him..he should have not destroyed them and gave them to somebody who would have actually appreciated them

To alot of folks on here. Thats all they are. There is a higher percentage of breakers on here. Who rip through a case/box. And upset that they made no money back on it. As apposed to those who get upset because they had no pc items. I find something I love in everything, but thats because I love collecting. If I make a buck now and then its cool. Even that money more than likely goes back to the addiction. If I oppened this box. I might have been bumed. Only because there isnt anything I collect. However I know I could of easily traded those for something that fit my PC. IMO
