First look: 2011 Topps Five Star Football

Topps Five Star Football is back. Returning to defend its title, the reigning football product of the year is scheduled to make its sophomore debut in mid February, 2012.

Ultra-premium 2011 Topps Five Star Football headlines the manufacturer’s greatest of gridiron offerings with four on-card autographs and one jumbo jersey or patch card per pack. Of course, this information merely scratches the surface for high-end hobbyists and cardboard whale hunters.

Each eight-card pack of 2011 Five Star Football fulfills that four-autograph, one-jersey-or-patch promise with these specifics:

One autographed Rookie Card
One base rookie-autographed patch card
One autographed veteran/retired or autographed patch card
One autographed Relic Book or dual autograph card
One jumbo jersey or patch Relic card
Three base cards on 154-point stock

In addition to the per-pack jumbo jersey odds, collectors should also keep an eye out for redemption cards that can be exchanged for autographed NFL rookie jerseys. According to the company’s release, these redemptions will fall as “additional hits” in 2011 Five Star.
