Why the heck do networks keep hiring Dick Stockton? He just said Ryan Howard is in his TENTH postseason.

Was this referring to me? If so, no, I'm definitely not jumping off the bandwagon. In fact, I was half joking... It just kinda gets on my nerves when the OP makes a post likes this, and then we promptly give up 5 runs to lose the lead.

2008 World Series Winner? Made the 2009 World Series?

That's not too bad...this coming from somebody who doesn't even like the Phillies..

I'd say it'd be very surprising if this happens.

As a Met fan, I'm always more nervous about the Braves, most for the 20 year or so run of beating the piss out of us, but the Phillies are starting to do that to my psyche too. I think the Phillies realize their window may be closing and are on a mission, that said I think a Yankees-Phillies World Series is inevitable with the Yankees winning in 7.

If the Rays can pick it back up and the Phillies can keep playing solid baseball, there's a good chance we could see a repeat of the 2008 world series. If the Phillies can keep grounded, I don't see anybody beating them with the pitching rotation they have and now the bats coming alive. That being said, it IS only game 2 of the NLDS and we've got to beat the Cards first....go Phils!

This prediction did not fair so well. The Phillies are not cursed like the Eagles. In my mind the Phillies are the team to beat this year until they lose in a valiant WS effort to the Tigers.

The Rays havent picked it back up already!? coming back from 9 games to make it to the playoffs..taking game 1 with ease..rough game 2 but almost came back! I'd say they they are doing alright. lol. Phillies look amazing and with the pitching they have and the bats in there line-up..I just dont see how they wont make it to the WS. I agree with you and wouldnt mind seeing that rematch again this year. However, thats if the Yankees dont manage to get there and as much as Id like to see it happen...their bats can only take them so far! pitching is crucial in the playoffs.

I know the series has changed but as a cardinals fan, I think its messed up having the brewers announcer on tbs for the LCS. I don't know its just an opinion.
