Carrbeaz just gave me an idea for a contest. :D
The person who comes up with the most creative way of destroying a John Lackey card will win $10.00 PayPal from me.
This can include a simple picture...a series of pictures....even a video. The choice is yours!!! (But your odds of winning will be better if you at least post a picture.) Have fun but don't burn your house down...and make sure you have your parents permission to use the sharp scissors! :D
This contest will end on Thursday October 6th at 9:00 EST.
At that point I will choose my favorite three and then hold a vote for you all to vote on on those three. The voting polls will close on Sunday October 9th at 9:00 EST and the most creative way of destroying a John Lackey card will win $10.00 PayPal from me!! :flex:
Have fun!!

You can do this small process !
1. Piss on it
2. Let your dog bite it
3. Use rubber gloves
4. Be safe and practice safe protection from ADIS/HIV
5. Buy scissors or a lighter
6. Go the the gates of Fenway and cut/burn or do both to the card and leave it for the mice !

I would say you need to do something like move across the country with it, say that you are having difficulties doing your job because the card is having issues. Continually bringing up how bad you have it because the card is not well. Go crazy when someone texts me about how the card is doing. Then you would just leave the card as it is dying saying that the card has brought you so much trouble that you can't deal with anymore.
Ya, not the best, but it is hard to compare a card to leaving your spouse who has cancer. At least he didn't pull a Lute Olsen I guess.

:)!
-I had worked out a Rube Goldberg-esque method for stripping a card of both its dignity and its aesthetic pleasures, then sending those remnants to the player in question.
Then i read this response, and cut my efforts short.
End contest.

I found this recipe in a New England cuisine cookbook, and thought I would make it to share with you.
Fried Lackey
1. Start with a Lackey card from a much better time in his career. A sturdy card, such as the Bowman Chrome pictured, will work best for this recipe.
2. Thoroughly tenderize the front of the card.
http://i714.photobucket.com/albums/ww149/ilovethelakings/For%20Lackey%20Contest/Lackeypart1.jpg
3. Don’t forget to give the back a good pounding.
4. Beat one egg.
5. Coat the entire card with egg.
6. You’ll need ¼ cup of breadcrumbs seasoned to taste.
http://i714.photobucket.com/albums/ww149/ilovethelakings/For%20Lackey%20Contest/Lackeypart2.jpg
7. Coat the card with the breadcrumbs mixture.
8. In a frying pan, start heating some vegetable oil.
9. Gently place the card in the hot oil.
10. After a minute, flip the card and fry the other side.
http://i714.photobucket.com/albums/ww149/ilovethelakings/For%20Lackey%20Contest/Lackeypart3.jpg
11. Make sure that the card is evenly fried on both sides.
12. Top with a dollop of Jonathan Papelbon salsa. (recipe on page 182)
13. Serve with a pack fresh julienned Carl Crawford. (see page xii for proper julienne techniques)
14. Boiled Daniel Bard is perfect side dish to the main dish.
http://i714.photobucket.com/albums/ww149/ilovethelakings/For%20Lackey%20Contest/Lackeypart4.jpg
Since every meal should be accompanied by some type of refreshment, I chose to go with a virgin Red Sox margarita. Always be sure to properly garnish your serving glass to add a touch of class.
http://i714.photobucket.com/albums/ww149/ilovethelakings/For%20Lackey%20Contest/Lackeypart5.jpg
Now this is a deal fit for any BoSox fan.
http://i714.photobucket.com/albums/ww149/ilovethelakings/For%20Lackey%20Contest/Lackeypart6.jpg
So what does an exquisite meal as the above cost? This meal can be all yours for the very low price of $160,257,476.

I had some help from our new puppy Bailey. Hes a Rays fan so he had no problem helping his dad out. That's a 2011 Topps Diamond Anniversary limited edition factory set card of Lackey, so if I don't win someone owes me 1/10 of a cent to replace it.

Okay....here are my favorite three entries in no particular order. The voting poll thread will be started shortly and voting will run until Sunday October 9th at 9:00 PM EST.
1.) ilovethelakings. The Little Mermaid plate put you over the top.
2.) csmtampa. Catching your dog in action gave you the slight edge over ttmtrader101. Nicely done.
3.) chittychitty844. Classic, classic response. I would have also taken "let him hold it."
Okay....off to create the voting thread. Good luck to the three contestants!
