these guys are doing great in the standings, like i said they would last year. but, at this rate, by december there's going to be noone left on the team .
tonight's hit i don't think looked cheap at all. it was just an unfortunate mistake. the guy has no history of it. but, being a flyer in the season 2 of his teammates are out long pds for similar incidents, i almost expect a 10-15 game suspension. sad to say, but that's the current state of the NHL

It looked like an accident, but this is still irresponsible play. PB could have gotten killed last night.
I think its time for the NHL to start taking draft picks away for this crap. Take Philadelphia's 2nd round pick in 2008 and see if that doesn't send a message.

I was watching the game and they showed the replay over and over while he was down. You'll notice that Bergeron pretty much set himself up for that hit because he stopped skating after the puck that went behind the net. He was going hard after the puck and probably saw Jones coming so instead of just skating through and taking whatever hit was coming he slams on the breaks and turns his back which makes it alot worse. He put himelf in a bad way by being afraid to get hit in the first place. No way that was intentional and if Jones get a suspension its a disgrace. I'm just glad he only has a broken nose and its not alot worse. It looked pretty bad when they were cutting his sweater off.
Taking draft picks you say ? Thats absurd. You can't punish an organization for some goon losing it. Its not like teams are teaching that to their players...well at least not anymore. Boulerice's cross check to the neck ala Dave Brown on Sandstrom was ridiculous and he is paying a huge price where it counts the most, in his bank account. Downie's hit was retaliation for being boarded from behind on the same shift(which wasn't called btw) and was more a case of him just losing it. Both were clearly different than Jones' hit on Bergeron.

It does not matter what angle Bergeron was at.Hitting from behind is not cool.Even though jones made a mistake, how can you really tell if a guy does it intentionally?Just like guys should be more in control of their sticks, they should be in control when they check someone.A concussion can still have lasting affects on someone.Maybe the pain Bergeron felt was the same pain we all feel when we open up and Upper Deck product.
ps.Good posts by a great group of forum members here.Thats what makes this forum special!!! Thanks

I looked at it again, Jones could have backed off, but I get what your saying Bammer.
It is drilled into you from pee-wee though, don't hit a player from behind.

Randy Jones received a two game suspension today. P.J. Stock on HNIC was right when he thought he should receive a maximum of two games. Ron MacLean thought he should receive many more games for the boarding penalty he received.
