I shipped a card via priority mail and sig confirmation and it was due to arrive monday. I watched the tracking to see when the card arrived, and sure enough monday morning it said "out for delivery". I checked the tracking later that night and it then said "delivery status not updated". It's been 2 days now and the delivery status has not been updated. I only live about an hour away from the items destination so i contacted the post office to see if the item had been attempted to be delivered (since it had sig confirm). She said the item was not there and they had no idea where it was. I then contacted the buyer of the item to see if he had heard anything and he then left me a positive feedback claiming he had received the item (thank god for honest people).
Now i am extremely relieved that the buyer received his item and was so honest about it, but i am very angry with the postal service. I paid 11 dolars to send an item 1 hour away with sig confirmation and they didn't do their job which could have resulted in me getting ripped off.
Has anyone else ever experienced anything like this and how do i go about filing a complaint with the post office??

To me, it sounds like a tracking website temporary technical glitch. I think if you had called USPS, they probably would have confirmed delivery for you. Two days showing an unavailable stats in my opinion is not reason enough for me to really complain about, but that's just me.

This happened to me a few weeks ago. Thank God for honest bidders...

I did call the 1 800 tracking info number and she gave me the post office where the card was last seen phone number. That post office then told me they didn't have the card and didn't know where it was.
Normally i wouldn't have been so impatient but i sent the package priority mail and i could have traveled to the destination in less than in hour.

If you read it again you will see where he said he called the post office and they said they couldn't find it. Then he contacted the buyer.
Thank goodness for honest people.

I missed that part, my bad.
Unfortunately, sig confirmation w/ USPS is not as real-time typically as FEDEX or non-ground UPS services, and that's something that people have generally accepted I think.

Actually, I think its only $2.50 additional. Not sure what makes up the other $3-4.

If it has insurance...file a claim that it hasn't arrived there per the intenet...obviously a crime, but how were you to know it arrived safely?
