a cut washington auto at an auction house (not in a card) goes for 15k

I've seen cut Washington auto's go for as little as $5000 at auction houses...made me kind of laugh when the guy who pulled the Washington single listed it with a BIN of $100,000 to start.
As for this item, to be completely honest it's not a very attractive piece of memorabilia. The Lincoln signature is tiny, off-center, and surrounded by pieces of other writing, and the Washington signature has the "G" chopped off and is so faded as to almost blend in with the paper it's written on.
So I doubt too many serious autograpgh collectors would be interested in it, as they'd rather have a complete document. That leaves speculators, and given how poorly Razor Oval Office is doing on Ebay so far (aside from the Grant, nothing has sold for over $1250), people may be very hesitant about risking such a huge sum on a speculative investment.

I have to agree that I don't think this will go for very much. I seriously considered starting the bidding off with $10K, but decided that was just too much given the poor quality of the Washington Auto. I'd pay $5K for this, but no more.

With all the attention that Lincoln has been getting lately? I'd think there are still some well monied collectors around that would be interested if they saw the auction.

I guess this product really is a bust if the best card in there only gets $5000. I originally thought $20,000-30,000. That is with out checking prices of Washington and Lincoln cut autos. Good luck selling it. Hopefully it takes off and someone pays a lot for it.

Anyone notice the description "this card has never been on Ebay". Beckett could f--k up a free lunch. I would laugh if the auction gets pulled.

I think this card will hit 22,000.00. I think they meant you have never seen a card like this on Ebay before. Gotta love the negative feedback Beckett has received. The almighty beckett doesn't have 100% feedback   It was a fun read.

HAHAHA....Why bid now??? If anything snipe this baby if nobody is willing to pull the trigger. Glad for the guy that pulled it but why.... why bid now??
Have to agree on the quality too, I'd have to pass on it for that price (hypothetically speaking) but then again I won't spend 10 bucks on a Brandon Phillips auto if it looks a little off LOL!!

Dude. Your kidding right? Man I know plenty of rich people who would pay 15-20k for it. The Grant went 7k this will hit 15k+

Don't ever understimate the added value of posting with Beckett.
Example 1...
I pulled the Williams Bat Barrel from Sterling and sold for approx. $2,300 (when the product was at the top of hype). Pulled another and it sold for over $6,000 when posted through Beckett.
Example 2...The Mantle Barrel I pulled from Sterling sold for over $10,000 - again, long after the hype of the product was at its highest. Much more than the $4k+ the previous one sold for by a high-feedback private collector.
They have advertising means, loyal customers, accountability, etc. I would never pay a lot of money for a high dollar card from "$am Prick" (example name for you confused few), even if he has 10,000 feedback. No guarantee when it all goes downhill.

The people who would have EVER considered spending this type of money for a presidential cut (even in a good economy) are absolutely not affected by the current economy.

$50,000. It is a priceless, national treaure that needs to be put in a museum. That's all that Razor produces-high quality, national treasures.

I really like this product and I share your enthusiasm somewhat. Having said that...some would argue that Razor isn't "producing" high quality, national treasures, but actually destroying these national treasures to turn a profit.
There is no way this card pulls $50K. I would love to see it though.

Looks like $16,100 might take it down unless there is a surge in the last 3 min.
And does anyone else find it absurd that they aren't giving free shipping?

Popped $100 in the last 30 sec. $16,200 took the dualie home.

I couldn't disagree more. Sorry. It shows how bad the economy is right now. That will be a $25,000 plus card in 5 years. This set will be a good investment.

Is that 10% on top of the fees? If so, hes looking at what, $3200 going to beckett/ebay plus 3% or so going to paypal.

around a 650% return on the investment before fees.
I would probably buy myself something historic to make me feel better about selling that card.

I could care less if it costs me more to sell it then sending it to beckett...if I pulled it, that f'n card is staying in my hands ONLY until I ship it out lol...I would definately say the ending price was low, but with the economy and "Razor" as the manufacturer that could be why...I could see it doing $5-10k more if Upper Deck produced it, I remember the Babe Ruth Dualie with the guy that sold him to NY went for $25k a year ago or so out of a UD product
