i dont know, i kinda got to disagree with you....i would think for that card maybe around $850-$950 range. but $1,399 is a great starting point:)!

YOUR never going to sell the card at $1,399.00 as a bin..... i think, as i have been a member of ebay for almost a 10 years, people hate buy it now auctions.... they want the trill of bidding. i would start the card at $100.00 with a reserve of whatever you want to set... i belive (and i have been collecting and selling for 15 years) your looking at $700-850.00 still, gonna make you back at least 7x what you paid fro the box... cant complain about that. Killer hit though, nice job!!!

I agree considering what Forte's SPA logo went for and Slaton is better IMO I think $1000 isn't really out of the question. Never know how much some people will pay for these kinds of cards.

Reserves are worse than BIN's...and he just sold it for $1400 so obviously you were wrong there, like I said you never know how much people will pay for these kind of RC's.

Whatever the case may be, either ways it turns people away. Whether it's a bin or a reserve. So you put it up with out either and take it off 12hrs before the end if its not to where you want it. No harm no foul. I would love to see that card sell for that much, but im very sceptical. And i was under the impression your allowed to post on here without prejudice..... so people seem to like to jump down others throats.

Each and every one of us would want the highest amount possible for the card that we can get. It's easy to tell another person how to sell a card, when it's not yours. I'm glad both of you said something. Rightly so he was very excited to pull the card. I for one was very happy for him and posted a pic because he just wanted to share a fantastic pull. If I had pulled the card I would have a similar price tag on it and see what happened.

I made a very pleasant suggestion in another thread that someone might want to check there pricing because it seemed a little high and I got jumped on. But yet some of those same people literally rag someone to death if they are priced to high or God forbid make an error in their description. Just be happy for the guy.

Hope you sell the Slaton for a good price. I wouldn't recommend selling it for anything other than the price you think you'd want as the bare minimum. GL with that though.

There's people who rip and then sell their crap and ruin the already terrible market with Horrendous Low BIN's and then there's high school kids who think they know all, but could never afford a case or a box of the product (their opinion is useless.) You have a unique item you set the price this will only drive the market up on other items.

i appreciate the words from all of you, i had over 600 views and 30 watches but only 1 offer, i really was hoping that card would have sold for at least 700 but no love from anyone, so i had an offer of $526 and took it today, not really what i wanted but could use the extra money right now. just wanted to say thank you to everybody who had kind comments, its people like yourselves which make me happy to be a part of the collecting community. good luck to everyone, and wish you all big pulls. thanks

I would not have parted with it that easy. I had trouble selling a Nolan Ryan auto for 70 when others were selling for 40. I understand if you need the money, but if you would have dropped the BIN it might have enticed a 8-900 offer, which is at least what it was worth. No way I would have let it go with the SPA going for 900.

A lot of people here like to jump in after the fact with what they would have given. I got all kinds of similar comments from this crew on the last big card I sold. Funny thing is a few of them were the same bozos that offered me about 1/4 on a quad topps rookie premiere red. I don't pay much attention to them.

Anytime you can open a box and get a good return you should be content. Just make sure you set SOME of that money toward something important, not just another few boxes of cards.

Maybe some offers were not made do to the speculation of what most people on this board thought was an 800+ pull. I know with all the talk about how 500-600 was unrealistic for this card made me shy away from putting in an offer over $525 for the sake of me not wanting to "lowball". It's still a great pull and a great sale.

Maybe he bit off more than he could chew when he bought it. I know guys who have paid a ton for a card just to say they have it. It's the "I cant wait to show my friends" kind of thing. They think they have the $$, then realize it left them short. I'm not saying that is what happened, but its possible.

Been there on both ends. I have a growing Super Collection of Julius Jones so those are obviously ones I expect to keep. But I also have a Matt Ryan 1/1 I need to try and sell to make some more money for my Julius jones collection!

Either way, seeing it listed at a BIN only auction, I think he would have been better off putting it up for 800-900 BIN or best offer! That would net him a little more opportunity to get his money back or possibly more.
