Sorry they are ugly like all the gold stuff all card company's made from years ago. Unless they are real solid gold like a coin. Looks bad sorry topps.

Gotta agree with this. Hopefully, they have something else up their sleeve for 2012 Topps Baseball.

Something different. Always a fan of that, especially if I snag one:)

Hmm I wonder what the resale value of these will be
and also are the going to be inserted in packs?
or redemptions??
I would think redemptions b/c otherwise these would stick out pretty easily.

Instead of a solid gold card/coin, they should have made a regular card with gold inserted into it. That would look better imo.

Like the diamond ones? If so, that would be cool.

Exactly. Email Topps, and tell them.

I have a box worth of these buried in my collection somewhere. They don't seem to sell for much on ebay, so i'll just leave them buried for now I think. I guess you need the gold or silver to get some value out of them.

Or you know, spend the money that they are spending on gold gimmicks on improving your products..maybe a stronger auto list, some nice patches, etc...whatever the great designers at Topps can come up with.

I think that they can do both. The Museum Collection autos from Marquee are an example of that. Great looking cards that have a "gold gimmick" to them.

This years base Topps was a smash hit IMO. Its the higher end products that continue to disappoint.

I'm looking forward to 2012 Topps Series 1. I'm banking on 2-3 hobby boxes depending on how much money I make. Past couple years I've passed on Topps Base products. I'm not much of a DDCer and that was what was driving the products. I think without a good solid code program Topps Series 1 will go back down to a normal and more affordable price range.

wow now I cant decide whether to use my codes for next years goveaway (When I get them and once the product is out) or to trade them...tough decision
