Just curious on what everyone's opinion is on the top 5 hottest rookies in the NFL as of right now. And by hot, I mean in terms of card re-sale value/hype. Not actual statistics/performance. If that mattered, Jake Locker wouldn't be selling at all:D

Obviously, Cam is at the top, so I've excluded him.

In my opinion from what little experience I have ripping packs and selling on ebay, these are my top 5 "others":

DeMarco Murray
Christian Ponder
Blaine Gabbert
Julio Jones
Andy Dalton

Anyone have a different list?

I would too, but at least as far as I've seen, Jones seems to be selling better.

Top 5 NFL rookies would be imo for resale value

1. Cam Newton
2. Demarco Murray
3. Andy Dalton
4. Christian Ponder
5. AJ Green/Julio Jones/Jake Locker (1 of those 3 has to be it)

I think in a couple of weeks Murray cools off and likely drops out of the top 5. I know his ypc is incredible but after speaking with lots of people it's very hard to see him continue the pace he's been on as far as resale value. I hate to call a topping out of his prices but until the Cowboys get it together I can't see him continue to rise in price. I see this shaking out where his hot streak for value begins a decline. When I say a decline I think the days of getting $20 autos are long over but can't see your average auto /200 continue to fetch $100 either.

I also would never put Gabbert anywhere near a top 5 sales list. He is already in Fitzpatrick territory where you can get his autos for $20 or less. I think the problem is the team he plays for not knowing what the future is. If Gabbert had gone to the Redskins like the experts had predicted instead of them dropping down to pickup Kerrigan I believe he would be a hotter commodity. No one in Jacksonville sells that well because the team doesn't have the right following for the cards to go up in value.

Just my opinion

Von Miller getting some exposure on Thursday night and playing like an animal will help him. In terms of selling, we all know how well defense sells. Im still a little surprised Dalton and Green arent selling better considering both their performances and them teams performance.

I included Gabbert because from what little selling I've done, and looking at completed listings, he is selling WAY higher than Miller. I'm hoping last night will change that though. The guy is a stud.

I collect Von Miller and love my cards but....really? Defensive players don't sell very well. If he's the Defensive Rookie of the Year and goes to the probowl does that help his value? Here is a telling card for me. It's a 1/1 that is selling now after his national exposure:

eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices (http://www.ebay.com/itm/320794500987?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649#ht_1648wt_954)

6 days left. I want to know where the price ends on this. That will set the bar I believe for his resale value for his average autos. Not slighting or taking away from Von Miller (you should sell me his cards!!!) just saying.
