Seems the latest trend on here is to charge for shipping. As a longtime seller, I look at shipping/supply costs as part of the costs of doing business. If folks are charging for shipping, that eliminates one of the advantages of the forums over ebay. I don't care either way, I can spend my money on ebay just as easy as on here. An example---------Buyer has card for $30 and has $2 shipping charge listed also, I offer $28 dlvd., response---sure I can do that, but shipping will be $2. Really???? Do these folks not know what $28 dlvd. means?? Don't remember who's sig this was in, but it was "you pay your fees, I'll pay mine". My humble opinion is that, substitute the word shipping for fees. Any thoughts fellow members?

I think you see the shipping charges in response to the dunping and fire sales that go on here.
If I have a card for sale at $30 delivered it $30 delivered.
No I have already factored in a "savings" compared to Ebay in my price.
Seller in you example isn't too bright then. I would just say no.
The "you pay your fees, I'll pay mine" you saw I believe is in regards to paypal. Meaning he will not send or accept paypal "gift"

In the scenario you provided rather than saying "I'll take 28 + shipping" the seller should've said "the best I can do is $30 dlvd".
I personally have no problems paying a shipping charge. You are paying it anyway whether the seller adds it into the price of the card or lists it seperately.

Thanks, but yeah, I know all that. Sad thing is, its been more than 1 seller to reply like that. I think it all started with the quick sales also, I guess selling a 45 cent card for 1.50 isn't enough profit.:D

Shipping is a cost any good seller factors into their product. Do you really think that stores don't factor in that cost? Packaging top loaders penny sleeves, all of that costs money.
Now ebay fees is a different story. When I sell I factor in shipping, unless it's a high end item. The savings here comes in the form of saved fees, NOT saved shipping & fees. You are bending the seller over a barrel if you are trying to waive all the fees + the shipping costs(IMO).

I did a fire/quick sale once with over 100 cards. I found that it was simpler to charge a flat $2 for shipping and then list the cards at a sale price. If I had listed each card with a dlvd price then it would stand to reason that I should discount for multiple card sales. Factoring it the way I did just seemed like much less work[and less haggling over shipping discounts] when doing alot of cards in one day.

That's the way I've always understood it.

Really "buddy"? I can't stand eBay. Why would someone make a thread about shipping costs? ITS THEIR CARD! If you don't like it, you don't have to buy it.
