Hi all. I just got a redemption for the set of 2011 bowman chrome 18u usa printing plates. Anyone have any clue who the cards are going to be, and how many players? If so, any idea of the value? Thanks!

a lot of good questions and a heck if a hit! does it say if it is all 4 plates of each player or does it say that it is one certain one of each player?

Well the normal ones are going for 50.
So.... I'd expect over 2000, but I have no idea

Hi guys, and thanks!! I actually redeemed it, since i have no clue what the cards are! The topps redemption says "2011Bowman Chrome
Set of 2011 USA Baseball Printing Plates Cards" Nothing more. At first i was ho hum, because i was thinking it was like the Topps chrome insert (1 per case) of the usa set. then, when I realized these were more scarce, i started trying to track down info on it and see what on earth it really is?? I was wondering the same thing, if this is one of the plates (black, cyan) or all? I have not seen any others on ebay, but who knows? $2,000 would be nice :flex:

$2000 seems like a lot for a set of non auto'd plates but who knows. Maybe 2k is right.
Doesn't "set" in these Bowman redemptions mean "pack?" I think you get a pack of random cards, in this case a pack of plates.

I have not heard a thing about that being the case. Where did you see that at?

That's true for Topps Chrome, but not Bowman Chrome. He should get the entire set. That being said, I think $2,000 is way too high. IMO, the 20 card set of plates is probably worth closer to $1,000-$1,200.

If he waits and a few pan out.....:devil:

Ok, you're probably right. But the language is nearly identical.
I'd call Topps and ask them.

Thanks guys. I guess I will have to take off work and call Topps :) Hopefully I get through to someone without too long of a wait, and hopefully they will know what they are talking about. Even $1k is nice for the set. I see the red /5 went for over $600.

Reds usually sell for more than printing plates. That being said, I think whoever got the red set for $600 got a heck of a deal.

That seems like a better estimate if none of the guys are superstars yet. 20 players x $10-15 per plate x 4 plates per person = $800-$1200.
