Had a great experience with Topps customer service today. It's a long story but the bottom line was because of an unsealed box of Chrome FB that made it into my factory sealed case I was in a bad situation all of the boxes had been sold.
To take care of the buyer I bought a box to send to him but I was sitting on an unsealed box and potential loss of $90. While it took a day or two to resolve and me providing some information and documentation in the end Topps allowed me to keep my unsealed box and sent me a 2011 FB Box that I should be able to sell between $70-$90.
I opened the box and it absolutely sucked Manning blue refractor, nothing else really decent except the auto and was pretty pleased to pull a PC card for me Von Miller on card auto!
This is not the first time they have come through for me but no doubt this was very fair and they were polite, called back on time as promised and I couldn't have asked for any better service.

Inconsistency at it's finest. I guess if the guy you get is not on his period then you're good.

Shouldn't have posted this. Now we will have greedy people calling them every case they buy trying to get a free box. Not really sure why a box inside a sealed case needed to be given a free box and Miller was a great hit for chrome....
Congrats either way, I'm still waiting on my box of 2010 tribute that was completely filled with damaged cards to get replaced

1 Topps Chrome football is selling for $95-$120 a box. I sell cases and boxes and have a sole proprietorship. If I were to lie I'm shut down. If people lie they will get caught, just like people who claim missing hits. Eventually you will get busted.
2. On why to be given a free box. If I was breaking the boxes I just would have opened it and that would have been that. But since I was selling it/ and already had sold it that changes things quite a bit.
If you had paid for a sealed factory box online and I sent you an unsealed box what would you do?
If I listed an unsealed box for sale how much would you pay?
If you bought an unsealed box and got a the worst auto and no color refractors what type of feedback would you leave?
So point being, no one is buying a unsealed box and I wouldn't want to sell it anyway.
Now I'm forced to break it and went from a sure $90 box sale to ?,
The box I was sent makes me whole.
Make more sense now?

It does make sense, Sorry I do understand where your coming from now and agree they did the right thing. I guess I'm just bitter that I'm still waiting for my replacement box of completely damaged cards from 4 months ago, They made me send it back and I called last month, they said I would still be getting a $70-$90 box like they told you but still nothing.
Just wish they would have believed me instead of me spending $5 and taking the time to ship it when you got a brand new box AND got to bust the one you had with nothing wrong but a missing wrapper.like I said, people take advantage of the system and lie so I guess they gotta make me send it to them.
Obviously you do alot of business with them so you are treated a bit different then someone like me.
Also I wanna make it clear I was never stating that you took advantage of the system or lied at all. I just know half the reason we get screwed is because of the people that do. I'm glad you had a MUCH better experience then most of us. No matter the case it's good to hear when any card company treats someone right.

I know never took it that way. I understand your frustration and many others in the same situation. Topps has a long way to go but I just wanted to make give a good story..
I can assure you of this, I DEFINITELY do not do enough business to get any special treatment.
Would it make you fell any better to know I'm waiting on 16 redemptions from 2 years ago? Including a Reggie Jackson that I bought for my PC... I didn't take offense to what you said and I understand where you're coming from. I'm sure I'm not getting any special treatment but I do believe there is an approach that increases your chances of getting a good result..
Believe it or not but for me having to bust a box sucks to a large degree because of the way that you have to do taxes and inventory, etc. I would have much rather swapped the unsealed box for a sealed box and been done with it.
I did have another exprerience like yours with 2010 platinum baseball being cut horribly. i'm going to pm you to discuss.
