Is it a normal thing for people to list a card twice at the same time, once as a BIN and another as an auction? Seems like that could cause problems. On top of that the guy is trying to sell the card here, and I am debating purchase. So that is 3 methods 3 random people could want to buy one card.

Not at all. He is very specific in every listing that the card is "first made 1/1".

He agrees to buy it here, gets the seller's paypal address, waits to send the funds until right when the auction is set to end. You hit the BIN on the other auction, and I'll win it outright. That way 3 of us will have bought/paid for the same card :)!

actually no. If someone gets antsy and wants to hit is bin price he can end the auction. the auction listing is free so why not give it a shot.

Someone has to send a BIN offer for a nickel less as well

It's officially against ebay rules to have duplicate listings. I don't see anything wrong with listing on a forum and on ebay at the same time though.

you can definitely get caught between a rock and a hard place if unlucky...I was on the buying end of one of those once. I hit the BIN and the auction was ending in like 8 hours or something, so I agreed to keep bidding until I was the top bidder so the seller could end it. That way he could end the auction and make me the winner. Obviously the only remaining issue was me winning 2 auctions for the same card. I ended up putting in a cancellation for the auction and he accepted, however if for whatever reason he decided to not accept my cancellation I would have been screwed. Also, if I decided to not play along and become the high bidder on his auction (after winning the BIN), he would have been screwed, so a lof of problems can happen if the wrong events unfold....

sellers do that cause cards can sell differently when up for a BIN or up for auction..a lot of people only look at auctions, so if his card is bid up past his BIN than he will remove the BIN...In my opinion it hurts the seller because people will see he has it listed twice and that might keep them from wanting to bid since they might assume the seller will just end it early anyway...

In essence yes but not really and not against ebay policy.
duplicate listings of product but one is auction format and other BIN format.

This is quite common for guys who have stores. The card is sold at auction and still is in there store. In this instance the I take it the user does not have an ebay store. Regardless not a big deal.
