So I went to a card show over the weekend and being in Canada in November it was primarily hockey. Pretty disappoint I kept looking and came across a guy with his wife. His wife was trying to get rid of his cards and clean out the house.
I know IP Auto are risky but I couldn't resist when I saw it for the price he wanted. So here it is let me know if you think I made a mistake. The auto was just in such good shape.

my opinion, it's not authentic, comparing it to anything I have. Could be an older signature. You could try searching for a older picture/auto and see if it matches up. Doesn't sign his full last name like that and the loop on the "J" is off.

Looks real to me. I'll try to post my authentic auto later but the "C" and "R" are pretty distinctive.

I would lean heavier toward real (the "J" and "ipken" are a bit off, on yours). Check this one out that I have in my collection (TTM):

idk what to think about this, Ripken is one of the only players that hasnt seemed to ever change his auto, this one looks different from any one ive ever seen...Of course I dont look at too many IP autos, but his autos hasnt evolved much at all over the years

It's authentic, but don't expect a huge flip.

Yours does look a little different in the "Jr" but it could very well be real

He signed is full name more often in the 80s. Could easily be real.
If not, you lost $20.
Honestly, this is easily one of the worst places to ask this kind of question. You are going to get guys going both ways with little to no actual knowledge.
I realize you are looking for feedback... so you will get a lot of it... and they will go both ways.

I have this years Gypsy Queen and I have to agree that the "C" and the "R" look identical to mine. However the "J" is not pointed on mine.

I will bet anyone here who says it's "fake" $40 that if he sends that in to any authentication company it will come back authentic.

here is a similar looking auto I think, described as a IP pregame auto

I would say real and probably signed not too long after the 85 set came out.

Im going to go real here as well, looks to be one of his earlier on autos considering the 85 card set
might as well send it to JSA and see what they think

I say fake because if you look at the top of the 'J' in the DK's card it has a sharp downward turn giving it a point. His actual autograph, which is depicted on some of the "authentic" cards above, has a definite curve ... no point.

You can't be comparing the OPs autograph from something that was signed in the last 10 years, much less 20 years ago.

I vote real, and would guess the card was signed in the mid 80's.

Agree 100% with this no one will have knowledge if this if it's real or fake they are guessing which is ok because you asked but people have no idea.
