Just read Bruce Boudreau has been fired by the Washington Capitals. I guess it was either him or Ovie, and now is the best time to do so, but I'm still a little bit shocked. Your thoughts?

Agree. A coach can have the best game strategies in the world but if none of your players respect him or he can't communicate to a level they will respond all that goes out the window.

Also, who brings more sales Ovie? or Boudreau? On a $ outlook Boudreau loses.

I don't watch too much Hockey, but I could have told you this would happen. They wouldn't let Ovie go before he would.

By doing this the Caps just told Ovie he can do whatever he wants. Hopes this works for them.

I want to completely disagree with you, but I honestly can't. I really think Boudreau should have benched Ovie and Semin for a game or two, possibly even three, to establish that he had control of the team. But he just wasn't prepared to take action and light a fire under Ovie and Semin's butts. Oh well.

The Caps did what they had to do, but from what I saw last year on those HBO Specials leading up to the Winter Classic, it appeared those guys respected him in the locker room, Ovechkin included. It's what happens when a Team just goes through the motions knowing they will still get into the Playoffs giving 70%. Boudreau will end up back in the league, sooner than later :)!

Very saddened to see a coach who was taken the team to 4 Division titles and is 2nd in the division and who was won an AHL Championship for the system as well get fired. As an avid Caps fan, our captain can't be the laziest player on the ice. Ovechkin brings a lot of $$ into the DC system, but won't ever win a championship with his work ethic.
