This does kinda blow my mind, all Topps has to do right now is track down the owner of that account and figure out where they got the product from and pass down a stern warning to fix this.

Although they should, i dont think they will. I think the only ones strict about that are Panini and UD.

I love that cards are out early, even though I hate triple threads. As a dealer or shop owner, I would be thinking differently though - especially with a product like this.

When a product has a street date (release date) on a Wednesday, there are always cards for sale on eBay by Monday evening or Tuesday. This has happened with every release I've followed for the past 2 years.

Manufacturers usually ship out the product to USA customers 4 mail days before the street date, so that hobby shops, distributors and internet retailers can have it in hand 2 days before the street date, so that the end customers can have it in hand on the street date.

The reason you see the cards on eBay 2 days before the street date is because some hobby shops, distributors and internet retailers open and/or sell the product as soon as they get it, and that way many end customers get the product on Monday and Tuesday before the street date.

Even with Panini and UD new releases under the MAPP program, you'll see the product on eBay a couple days before street date. Usually these will be foreign sellers, in Japan or China. For some odd reason, manufactures insist that those foreign countries receive the product 2 days before the street day in THEIR TIME ZONE. Since they are almost a day ahead of us, they get it even sooner than USA customers do.

The whole industry is nuts. I don't even know why I still try to make a side business out of it. Sigh...

How the F do you tell the difference from year to year? It's the same basic design. Rainbow foilboard. I will never buy triple threads. I guess the look of the cards isn't sophisticated or grandiose enough for me. If I'm spending that much, they cards should look like works of art (ie: exquisite or NT), not like they came from the bargain bin of the Liberace House of Crap.

And I should also add that sometimes the combos of players on the multi player cards are just plain weird.

even if they find out who the seller is, they can't force the seller to tell them where he got the product from..... and if the seller doesn't tell Topps where the product came from, what can Topps do to him?.. nothing. it would be a waste of Topps' time & money to do anything.

We're busting some cases on blog now. Not much better then last year besides double the hits which makes it worth it.

I'm not sure what they could do to live up to baseball, just way to many super high $ legends.

Also, they had the whole lineup of sick all-star patches, haven't seen anything like that yet but who knows, we might see some sick booklet logo cards.

Not liking what ive seen so far at all in these breaks, either very bad luck or loaded with different variations of crap rookies.

We did hit a newton/marcell/von triple auto which was cool but not one qb single auto

I'm actually glad my LCS dropped the ball on ordering this... he didn't get his allocation and means I didn't get my case, which turns out to be a blessing lol

i know with other products, some people get away with selling stuff early by not actually shipping or delivering the stuff until after the release date...if it's wed and they put it up monday with a 3 day auction or even a 24 and it takes 2 days delivery time for it to arrive to the end buyer, then they have stayed within the terms.

On the other hand if you get it a week early and throw it out there then that's not within the guidelines.

I see CD's, DVD's, Comics, Books...all sorts of stuff that is time dated release done this way.

Example...If you pre-order a CD from Newbury Comics, they usually ship it the week prior so it arrives on the actual release date...which is usually a Tuesday...as a result in different shipping times, you might get it a day early or a day or two later....just depends on how fast the mail is.
