Exactly. Morse played 85 games at 1B last year. Granted, Laroche was hurt but he's a borderline starter at this point, even when healthy. Look for Morse to get the bulk of the starts at 1B in '12.

I would think that Marrero is ready for the fulltime job at 1B, but maybe not. That might be there thinking then is to put Morse at 1B then have one of the best outfields in the league with Harper, Cepedes, and Werth.

GM Rizzo has not ruled out Bryce Harper's chance to make the team on Opening Day if he has a strong showing during spring training. Most analysts have put a JUNE date on his call-up because of new CBA rules, and the threat of him becoming a Super Two:

His cards will go up before and during spring training in anticipation of a call-up. They will dip back down when he doesn't get called up and will rise again in the months leading up to his expected call-up date (mid-June to September). How much his cards increase will depend on the amount of media coverage he receives.

I have already seen his 2011 bowman (BP1,BCP1,BPP1,TP100, BBR1) cards increase by 10% since last month's sales prices reached an all-time low. The supply of these cards on eBay has decreased sharply. I bid on every single one that is @ my price point. I went from winning 75% of the auctions to winning somewhere around 5% of them.

Harper needs to marinate another year in the minors. Sorry that the Nationals suck, but they've sucked forever so they might as well wait a year to try to contend.
