I hope he starts, I think he is the only real option the Vikings have for a long term solution. However, the problem he has to overcome is that Brad Childress is by all accounts, on the hotseat and if he cannot produce a winning season, likely out of a job after this year. Coaches who typically are trying to save their job, don't often like to rely on a rookie qb, or in this case a young completely inexperienced qb who has never taken a snap in the NFL. I have a feeling that Childress will go with T Jack, who will have a subpar year, and hopefully lead to Childress getting canned (as a Vikings fan, this is always the silver lining of having a bad year, Childress might get let go!). Likely, the Vikes will go with some combination of T Jack and Sage, they did just give the man $9 mil. That being said, I see two scenarios where JDB gets playing time; 1, he comes out of camp on fire and clearly the best qb on the field or 2, the Vikings do so poorly that he is given a chance at the end of the year to prove himself. I hope for scenario 1, because I also have purchased a fair amount of JDB cards, but I am not holding my breath. Ahh, the life of a pessamistic Vikings fan ;)

JDB was decent in college (USC by the way). One of his problems is that since he is untested on the pro level, people are wondering (as they do about a lot of USC QBs) if he was a product of a super college system? or if he was a real deal and made everyone around him play better. USC always has talent and when they are clicking, everyone makes everyone else "look" better.

I have also pulled a ton of his cards this year so I'm hoping he at least gets a shot at starter.

Sage R will be starting. TJ will be 2nd, JDB will be 3rd.

If they start Sage, JDB might be able to work his way up to the # 2 position. Personally for QB's I dont expect much until about the 3rd season. The speed of the game is totally different and there are lots of things to reevaluate, plus your play packages are much much different. I actually prefer they be on the bench for a year or two which gives them time to learn everything if they are putting in their time. I've got a decent amount into Drew Stanton, but the Lions have been working him over for 2 years now and I'm starting to get nervous just the same.
