Topps - F
Panini - D-
Upper Deck - B+
Who would have imagined, Upper Deck leading the pack.
This post is also to remind those who have issues with these companies to always remember to take issues up with the Better Business Bureau.

The BBB is more of a joke than Panini or Topps

Well the ratings go to show how little those companies care about customer service. The BBB has no power over these companies, but fights on the behalf of the little guy to try and get resolution to issues. I don't think they are worse than Panini or Topps. Those 2 companies steal from collectors on a regular basis.

The BBB's own "better business practices" were exposed on 20/20 not too long ago:

If by "steal" you mean legally make profits off idiotic consumers who won't stop buying their products then I wholly agree. These companies will continue to cut corners as long as they have suckers buying their crap. Simple as that. What you are showing us is nothing new, but the BBB is a load of horsesh!t and will do absolutely nothing to change these practices. As consumers we need to stop buying some of this utter garbage (literal garbage in the case of Panini Basketball) so they start putting some damn effort in the production of these cards.

I agree 100%. The garbage Panini and Topps releases now is just awful. Yes, they will continue "stealing" from people as long as we (as collectors) are stupid enough to buy in.

When a company has convinced a whole group of people that losing only half of their hard-earned money on their products is "good" and "worth it because it is fun," I believe something is wrong.
While we all may have "fun" putting the time and effort into listing, selling and shipping this crap in order to recoup our initial "investment," its really a load of horse sh!t. I have cards coming out of my ass because I can't figure out what is PC, what is actually sell-able on eBay (where I again let a big business rape my wallet) and what is better off being turned into fireplace fodder.
The funny thing is we perpetuate this whole ass ramming process... We open this crap, post the breaks on forums, the crap break threads fall to the bottom of the pile (if they even get posted at all) and the miraculous Jesus pulls/breaks get pushed to the top giving us suckers hope that somehow we can hit the pot o' gold. We provide free marketing for these companies, furthering our own addiction in a community of degenerates all addicted to cardboard dreams that are quickly materializing into nightmares (for those of us that aren't too sucked into the rabbit hole).

Just realized that may have been a little too depressing and heavy. Here's a kitten intermission:
