I just saw this article on MLB Trade Rumors: Hanley Prefers Trade Over Position Change: MLB Rumors - MLBTradeRumors.com (http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2011/12/source-hanley-prefers-trade-over-position-change.html)
Thoughts? I highly doubt that it will happen, but who knows?

No way they trade him. Loria loves Hanley Ramirez as evidenced by this...

Hanleys stock in down because of last year. He's still young & still relatively cheap. Everything in the article is from an unnamed source.
Only thing Hanley has said is this today via his Twitter:
Hanley Ramirez
Everybody it's waiting to see what's gonna happen with me or what I gonna do right?
Hanley Ramirez
What I am gonna do is work hard and get ready for next season because that is the only thing I can control I love y'all!!!!
Somebody tweeted to Hanley:
"Another super 3 in da #305?? @HanleyRamirez Jose Reyes, Albert Pujols!! #Miami"
Hanley replied:
"I like it!!!!"

Definitely the other part to this, they'd probably get about .50 cents on the dollar since he's coming off a down year and a surgery. No way they let him go, it's just not reasonable. I imagine they will do enough to keep him happy and if they are winning it shouldn't matter.

You're right, totally forgot about the surgery. Yes, he's still recovering from that & may miss some Spring Training due to it. Not likely at all on a trade all things considered.

Looks like the Marlins have changed their mind...Apparently Hanley's agent asked for a restructuring of his deal and the Marlins are pissed...

Source: Hanley Ramirez's rep asked the Marlins for a restructured deal. MIA upset with this, will now be looking to trade Hanley (more).

Good fracking riddance. There's no crying in baseball, Mr. Hankey.

Hanley, you spoiled brat. A couple months ago, you go on about how the only dude you would move to 3rd for, is his buddy Jose. Now, he's jealuos of Jose's big check, and wants a trade? This dude needs a reality check. He is going to have Reyes in front of him and Stanton (AND POSSIBLY PUJOLS) behind him. Any other player would kill for that.
Trade this child away to the Braves for some pitching:eek:
Trade him, make room for Prince and Buerhle(sp). It would make for a great line up and solid rotation.

Yeah, they also said the meeting they had last night with MLB Officials wasn't about the "Pujols Offer either". Wouldn't surprise me if there is a big time trade in the works.
Buehrle's a Marlin via Ken Rosenthal. 4 years for $58 mil.
Samson has said they are not looking to trade Hanley.
Hanley's agent has just said he is not looking for a restructured deal.
Who knows, but I go with that over unnamed source.
Hanleys stock is way down, he's coming off of shoulder surgery, he had an awful season last year. Be lucky to get 50 cents on the dollar for him & the Marlins have him under a decent deal & he is still young. They have been kissing his a** this whole off season with all of these other signings, they know they have to cater to him.

It's too bad Hanley didn't demand a trade. The Marlins should have put up more money for Pujols instead of signing Reyes. They already have one of the best shortstops in the game in Ramirez.
