Who do you think Howard will go to?

I think/hope the Mavericks. Reigning champions, playing with one of the top 5 players in the game (probably top 2 or 3) in Dirk, on a team that is clearing space to offer him a legit contract.

I am eagerly anticipating this :D

I really want him to stay on the magic... I went to a game last year and he was probably the most entertaining to watch. the second tean I would want him to go to would be the Mavs because there team will be a big contender with kidd, terry, odom, dirk, and then maybe dwight

I think the lakers will make a bid for him and itll get shut down by Stern. Unless someone lines the pocket of stern, he'll turn a blind eye to it.

His comments today were based on Orlando's request to say that he doesn't want to leave to try and drive up the offer from other teams.

That being said I vote and hope he ends up with the Nets.

doesn't it seem incredibly strange that only certain teams even have a possibility of getting these players? that obviously is league controlled. then you had the owners previously saying that they hate how they have to pay out of pocket to promote the players, then lamar odom gets traded for peanuts based on being on a reality show (supposedly), to a team with clearly money to blow? and the team with money to blow won the nba championship while lebron just sat by & watched and clearly wasn't playing 100%? I don't think it could be any more obviously scripted if they tried.

Lebron was playing 100%.

Wade a few years ago vs Mavs was playing 100%, but only 15% of his free throws were due to legit fouls.

This past year was as legit as could be. Why would the NBA want the Heat to lose?

The Mavs were ON FIRE shooting, refs did not control the game. Mavs played as a TEAM.

Things the heat did not do.

The league/stern has had an agenda for decades now. Most call it a conpriacy because nothing can be proven but all it takes is time and logic. So many shady things always taking place..

Knicks #1 - Bent record when Stern chose #1 pick overall
How new owners are chosen for teams & expansions
Refs never cheated? Conspiracy, then bombshell drops about it
Stern not letting teams make trades in an open market system

Its all propped. MJ was a prop for the NBA/Nike in the 90s. Yao was a prop for market to China. Lebron is a prop used to market a new generation of NBA fans. Pedestals are used everyday to make you get the message that the NBA is what you should be wathing and Nike is what you should be buying.

lebron was not playing 100%....... anybody who has ever played the game of basketball knows this.......

this is a player who can take it to the rack on pretty much anybody in the league, and his team needs only a few points constantly and he just chooses not to do so.....

there is no way lebron didn't know that he could take it to the hoop and not grab a few extra points. NOT POSSIBLE.

we are talking one of, if not the best basketball player in the world, he's a multi-millionaire/business man, he's definately not stupid by any means.

Maybe not stupid, but he is immature and his basketball IQ is still missing some key components.

He was facing a great defensive *TEAM*, he forced up a ton of terrible jumpers because he could NOT just take it to the hoop every play and score, as you say.

There's no reason for me to stress my point, anyone who watched the series could see this.

i don't think his bball iq is missing anything. i think he just lacks a certain testicular fortitude, as one wwe star would say...

The amount of one-on-one contested jumpshots he takes is what I'm focused on. How many 'bad' shots do you see Dirk Nowitzki take?

Even Wade takes almost all 'good' shots.

I just see Lebron as too much of a showboater. As a player he is amazing, but his shot selection is questionable at least.

On a positive note, apparently he was working with Hakeem Olajuwon on his post game this off season. So hopefully that will translate into game play this season!

Lebron faced the celtics and bulls defense without that issue, we are talking about THE BEST of the BEST.... this guy is lightning fast and built like a MAC truck, there isn't a player in the league that can stop lebron from driving to the hole when he wants to go..... outside of just fouling the hell out of him, and that would have been a plus as well because he would have shot free throws......

but he obviously threw that series..... it's not even debateable really. dallas isn't that good that they can just shut him down, he wasn't even shut down, he just literally didn't play, he handed the ball off "NOT EVEN IN A GOOD WAY" constantly.

but I guess it's all a co'incidence like dan gilbert owning a major company in biz with the NBA and getting the 1st round pick kyrie irving right after they lost lebron......lol

and the whole chris paul situation....

the celtics can sign ray allen, kg, rondo, shaq, pierce etc all on the same team, bosh wade, lebron can get on miami, but these other teams with less money can't get a set of superstars if they lives depended on it.

I mean how realistic is it that NO NBA owner or team could just sign any of these guys to a lower tier team? it's clearly rigged.

they want celtics, chicago, miami, new york, dallas, los angeles, okc to stay in the playoffs for many years to come. and they will either build up the clippers around griffin or move him A.S.A.P. because there is too much money to be made with blake griffin so somethings got to give in that situation.

He will be on the Magic. The only team I see making a play for him is the Clippers and I haven't heard rumblings about that. Lakers said they won't give up Pau and Bynum and I don't think they should. The Nets gave up basically all there assets to acquire Deron. I don't think the Mavs have any rebuilding pieces to send to the Magic? Honestly, if I was a clipper I would wait until next summer for free agency. Deron said he wont sign an extension unless Dwight comes to Nets via trade which I think is almost impossible. After this year Kaman and Mo Williams comes off the books which gives them about 25 million in cap space. This gives them the opportunity to keep the wolves unprotected pick for next year that should be a top 8 pick in a very deep draft. Then they can trade a mix of young talent in Bledsoe and Aminu and possibly Caron Butler to clear up more cap room to lock up Blake and free up enough space to get a Deron or a CP3. If they are all free agents next year I can't see not one of the big point guards not going there to play along EG, BG, and a rookie stud. As you can see I love to speculate. I can't wait for the NBA to start....I need it hahahaha

agreed, it is starting look like the magic are putting together the pieces around him that dwight would want to become a strong team.... this could all be a smokescreen tho!

I don't care where he goes, i will still collect him. Can't wait for xmas day(boxing day here) to watch some ball!!!!!

This is how I see everything playing out, the Magic are gonna hold out until the Lakers offer Pau and Bynum for Howard, and they're gonna wait until the very end of the trade deadline, and if the Lakers don't propose the offer, then and ONLY then, will the Magic trade Howard to the Nets.

If I'm the Lakers now, I go ahead and get it over with and trade Pau and Bynum for Horward right now, and start over from there. Yes, we are giving up a lot for Howard, but the way I see it, the Lakers are not gonna win a championship this year anyways with it's current roster, nor will they win any future championships without Dwight Howard. So, might as well do the trade right now, so Kobe and Howard can build some chemistry early on in the season, and not try to scramble everything late in the season. And honestly, I don't think trading for Howard would make the Lakers automatic championship contenders this year either, but at least now, you'll have a franchise piece to build around for the future once Kobe retires.

As a diehard Lakers fan, we just need to get away from this mentality that we can get something for nothing. If you want something this badly, sometimes you have to over pay for it.
