Official 2012 Bowman Break Club

OK folks, lets get this thing officially off the ground and going.

Here are the original rules from the first thread, though I did make some slight changes:

1) The club will be $25 a month with the expectation that we will not necessarily be breaking every month [depending on product cost]. By confirming membership you are committing to $25/month for the year. Please do not commit if you are not sure you can afford $25/month.

2) Shipping, fees and supply costs will also come out of the monthly fee

3) The products under consideration for breaks each month will be Bowman (spring release), Bowman Chrome, and Bowman Draft Picks. Products will be selected by a consensus vote of the club. Older year products are fine as long as majority rules.

4) NO PC team will be part of this club. Each break the 30 members will be randomized, and will then draft the team of their choice in the order they appear in the list. IE, the person who gets the first pick, gets first choice of team, and so on ... trading slots/teams will be allowed after the random if people want to do so. You will get every auto, serial #'d, GU and CHROME prospect of the team you pick.

5) Base cards - if members want their base cards of their team, I am happy to mail them to them and we can figure out cost on a per break/per member basis. If someone wants ALL the base, and no one else wants them, we can also work something out that way. The other solution is to sell them all off on eBay as one large lot. Base are the base prospects, base/chrome vets that are not numbered.

6) Please be aware that as we are only busting ONE case at a time, there is only going to be 12 autos or so per case. By default that means you have a chance of getting NO auto with your slot.

7) All breaks will be done live on UStream

When sending a Paypal payment to the host, protect yourself by sending as goods (not gift). If a payment is sent as a "gift", you eliminate your chance of filing a chargeback should the need arise. If possible, fund the payment with a credit card to be fully protected.

Original post has been updated to include PAYPAL info. We need to decide what it is that we want to break first. After fees we should wind up with about $719. Shipping fees for 29 members at $1.75 a piece is $50.75, so that leaves us with about $668.

My vote would be either 11 BDP, or 10 bowman chrome.

Isn't it the same if the random gives you a team or a pick #? It can easily give you the worst team 12 times in a row just like it can give you #30 pick 12 times in a row.

I PMd everyone who has yet to pay this morning. Once the rest pay, then we can ask the mod to do the random. Looks like we are waiting on 8 more to pay up.

At this point, its fairly clear the product is going to be 11 BDP, so once I have enough collected for it, I will place the order.

Also - on a side note, I spoke to Danny and we will be able to get a little break on the case price which is good news. After everyone pays up, minus paypal fees we will have $719.10 to spend. This is of course BEFORE shipping fees to send out the hits we wind up with to however many people hit something. If all 29 [I dont need to ship to me of course] members hit something, that would be another $50.75 needed. We will also be ordering some supplies [penny sleeves, top loaders, team bags] but that will only be a few bucks.

Either way we will not have much to roll over - probably around $35 if everyone gets something - slightly more if not everyone does. Remember, we are NOT shipping base [anything that is not an auto/serial numbered/chrome] unless a member wants to pay for his base to be shipped out.

I guess thats about all the updates for now.

Yes you did. However, picking a team should take like 5 seconds. We still have all day today so I am sure we will finish. No biggie.

It's tough to make someone pick over the weekend, but maybe next time we can give a time limit....at least during the week. Set hours....like say "Draft starts Monday at 12pm EST and ends 10pm EST" People can pick outside of that time, but if during that time you have like 45 minutes or an hour to pick or you get a default. I'm sure someone can come up with a fair default list to use.
