Lets see if I can get some beginners luck. Last week I went retail and on my 4 value boxes I got skunked except for a Gold Harper and a Cognac Eric Hosmer.

Switching to hobby for the 1st time in my life and I am opening the very first pack.... now. I'll update when I'm done opening or if I hit a monster in the middle of break.

ok... here are the results.

Note: I have no idea who 80% of these players are, lol. I am more of a football guy/old school baseball so the new prospects are unknown to me.

Auto: Christopher Wallace, Houston Astros

Die-cuts: Brett Jackson [its gold # 16/25]. And also, chris archer, gary sanchez, josh sale, jesus montero die-cut base.

Rookie reprints- Albert Puljos [I almost shat myself because I thought it was his real on-card auto, but it's a reprint. Still a cool card. And I also got an Inchiro rookie card.

Rookies: A bunch of them and none of their names rings a bell.

Bowman's best: Bryce Harper [I know him!] and Devin Mesoraco [I don't know him!] I also got a base card Bryce Harper.

No buster Posey! Ah well. It was fun.

So... how was my break? I really have no idea if i pulled anything significant.

I would sell it to you but I do not have an Ebay account or paypal. Also, there is a slight ding on the back left hand corner of the card... but not visible on the front of the card.... blah... just my luck!

Well... for both of our safety, lets wait until I set up a paypal/ebay [I'll have it done by the end of this weekend]. Also, I can then scan the card for you to look at first.

So if you really want the card I'll sell it to ya [I don't collect this Brett Jackson and none of my friends collect cards and I don't know anyone offline who collects cards so it's not going anywhere].

I just wish people would give the kid a break. I mean jeez, can't we just be happy for him? This is exactly why there are few kids in this hobby, they are treated like crap. Just look at some of those comments. Disgusting.

Those dings are standard on the die-cut inserts because of the difficulty in cutting such weirdly shaped cards. It's pretty rare to even see one that has both sharp corners and edges without any weird fraying or cut lines.
Anyone that's busted a bunch of 2011 BC will agree.

I agree with you that people should respect kids in the hobby. But when we see a card worth that much money being rubbed and bumped around, it's just painful to watch, regardless of his being a kid.
