I've seen a few of these squirrel cards on the Bay, but this one listing is
C-RAZY. Any idea why it's going for so much?

If these prices keep this high for 5 weeks, I'd say yes. But this is one of the first ones. People always go apeshit over the first ones up. These cards'll be a dime a dozen come September.

Wrong in so many ways. This is likely to be a SSP and should sell for quite a bit indefinitely. There will be set collectors out to get all the variations, so this, the Pujols, and Reyes should all sell very well.

Just released. Topps has big set collectors. Short Printed Variation - likely very short printed. Unknown print run, but this is for sure a rare card. The squirrel made 2 appearances in the world series and got a fair amount of tv time.

I phrased that wrong. I wasn't at all implying these cards will be going for the same amount as base. What I mean is these things will lose substantial value. Do you see these things going for $600 in September? How about $500? $300? $200? I sure don't. These things are not going to hold 1/5 as much value in 5 months. Theres just no way.

well, there are 6 or so of them up right now, and no pujols, one reyes, no lincecum, no sandoval. I'm not sure it is that big of an SP, considering how many we're seeing out of retail.

I heard the Shu was not a SP but in the next series or product is when they were going to be included in several different ssps with the rally rquirrel

that doesnt mean its being chilled. I have auctions that look like that all the time. Just that guy put in a high bid. If the other bidders don't top his original bid then the history only shows his bid until its topped.

Bingo. The thing is it has zero visual appeal. None. If it was maybe Pujols with a full shot of him in the box and maybe the squirrel somewhere in it that would MAYBE make some sense. Super limited as in 50 total made or something like that.

Everytime I look at it all I do is chuckle. It's just an ugly card.

I don't think it's ebay shilling.... maybe it's topps doing it. Think about it, this card and it's inflated selling price, has influenced so many people to go out looking to buy packs trying to get the mystical $600 card... a card that isn't worth $600 but "hey wait... one sold for that amount so there's got to be real value there, right????" No. No sane person would pay that for this card. It has to be some type of scam methinks. And who would benefit from the interest? TOPPS. :devil:
