Topps base isn't really a "fun" break in my opinion, but it's a good "rip and flip." I personally leave it alone because I don't have time for all of the sorting, pre-selling, listing, and shipping necessary to come out ahead on this product.

sometimes those mediocre players turn it around and become great players... that's what makes collecting fun [for me].

Also, when you do finally pull a nice auto it's that much sweeter.

well for those that care, I put most of my hits up on ebay. If anyone is interested in trading some inserts for other inserts I am pretty close to having a master set.

Based upon early rips, Drew Stubbs signed 300,000 stickers.

+1 That is always fun to look back in a monster box that has been around for 5 years and finding all of those rookie cards that are worth something now because the rookie is a good player now.

the flipside of that is sorting through all the rookies you hoarded back in the day that are commons now...

yeah, he signed about 1,000,000 in 2010 and they are still using them. now, he can't hit the damn ball anymore, nothing but K's. his average year is 195 K's for 601 AB's!?@?!@! at least he still has defensive skills.

they keep having him sign, his hand is gonna fall off.

is there anything of value here? I just looked up case prices. What's the point?

I'm bitter because I bought a 2011 Topps Jumbo box (that wasn't cheap) and basically got nothing. Why do people buy this? This is a serious question :)

the fun of ripping open wax. I got my case for 540 ($40 was ebay bucks) I should be able to make back about 450-475 I think as well as collect 5-10 for the pc.
