It's going to cost me near 80 bucks to do my stuff on TurboTax this year if i file federal and state... just wondering if anyone has filed with Liberty this year so I could possibly gauge the fees without having to make the unnecessary trip. The main reason I ask is because if a Refund Anticipation Loan would only be like 100 bucks or so included with their service, it might be worth it for me to file my taxes there anyways. All my tax money is going to Value Boxes anyways so it'd be nice if I could get those before the codes run out ;)
Feel free to PM me if you don't want you personal stuff aired out for all to see.

isnt the liberty tax the place with the post office in it right next to the card shop? you know youre up in there all the time anyway so it wouldnt be an unnecessary trip. ohh and youre buying value boxes ? your wal mart is right there too.. dont forget to hit up the dollar tree on the walk to wal mart from the post office/tax place. get yourself a couple cheap packs and a 1 dollar soda. also.. do not ever eat the food at the mcdonalds in that wal mart.

My sister actually went to liberty tax to do her taxes. I told her HR Block but she wouldnt listen. She had a pretty simple return. 2 w2's and a form from college showing how much she paid for tuition(it was out of pocket money.) Liberty Tax wanted to charge her $355 to file her taxes for her, but they offered to give her $50 cash for doing her taxes there, lol. She went to HR Block instead and had it done and over with in less than 30 mins for a total of $115.
If you're looking for RAL I would suggest Jackson Hewitt. Some can be found in Walmart Supercenters. I think this is the last year though that anyone is doing RAL

Thanks man, just decided to go ahead and e-file anyways, it doesn't take too long to get that cash... i'm not in any dire need for money, just always nice to drop a ton of money on wax so that I don't spend it on something... unnecessary? :p

LOL I think jim moved back up "North". As for the walmart there are no value packs (trust me on this), the subway and no 1 kitchen no 2 also both suck. About the only safe place in the shopping center is the pizzahut. as for the dollar store i already pack searched it for the best base cards ;) and don't go on fridays the sodas are hot they restock em then.
But yes Liberty Tax is where the post office is.

Actually Dustin I'm back down here lol. I've been working on James Island for about two months now, living in Park Circle though. Just got back from Wal-Mart / Office Max buying some more printer ink, dropped off some packages at the Liberty Tax / PO and lingered for about a minute outside of Hooked before deciding not to go in... their Bowman Chrome boxes are like 90 bucks right now :eek:

the wal mart deli actually has the best food in that area for the price. UNLESS YOURE REALLY HUNGRY AND HIT THE PIZZA HUTT BUFFET. I just had the general chicken combo myself. . and I ate my food in the mcdonalds there.

OMG - you just reminded me. There's a Liberty Tax place here in Brooklyn.
(so named because from that street corner you can see the Statue out in the harbor)
Last year, they had a very overweight gal in full Statue of Liberty costume
handing out flyers on the street corner all day.
I felt bad for her, cuz she must have really needed the dough.
But it was funny as all get out to see.

the one by walmart here has a crazy lookin dude with big bug eyes on the main street with a sign. last year he used to dance with listening to his mp3 while on the side of the road. I dont know if he still dances this year. Maybe the dude that works in the shopping center can tell us!

If your taxes are pretty simple to do I wouldn't take them to Liberty. This will be the last year I have them do mine they charged me like $400 to file and get within 7 to 14 days. All depends on how much your return is.

I worked for Liberty Tax last year for a few weeks during the rush of people filing early to get money back asap. I was supposed to work again this year, but they just wasted my time. Liberty Tax is a real joke. They will charge someone $350 for something you could do on your own on Turbo Tax for free or like $60 the jmost. I did some returns for people and they got so screwed on how much they paid to get taxes done there.
