verizon wireless upgrade time...any suggestions on a good phone?

well my contract has been up for a few months now and i think its time for a new phone. i got a droid now and was looking for something way better with maybe a bigger screen. i would love to here some suggestions on what everyone has and if there good or not. thanks

I have a Samsung Galaxy S. I think it's an awesome smartphone. Unfortunately, Verizon opted to not carry the Galaxy S 2.

My parents both have iPhone 4 and honestly, aside from the screen being amazing on the iPhone, there's not anything in particular that's far greater than my Galaxy S maybe except iTunes.

If you will watch a lot of video on the go, Android based phones are better simply because the software supports and is compatible Adobe Flash. With the iPhone, you will commonly come across videos that you want to see but are Flash based and the iPhone will not play it.

Though, all the most popular video hosting sites that use flash also have a mobile site version or an App downloadable from the Apple store that is compatible with the iOS system that Apple uses.



All, in all, I think the iPhone is indeed a better device. However, you will never find the most current iPhone at discount. I got my Galaxy S when recently released at a special deal for $50, the next week it was going for $200 again.

The only thing I wish was better on my phone was having a screen resolution that rivals the iPhone. It's really good, definitely not subpar, but not incredible. The Retina display on the iPhone truly is amazing. Everytime I look at my parents phones I am newly impressed everytime with the screen. I'm one of the few that can distinguish between the pixels at a normal viewing distance, but I have 20/15 vision in my right eye and 20/13 in my left.

Shoot.. I'm knowledgeable in electronics somewhat, but up to this day, and past phones in my life, I've always been using basic phones.

Right now, I've got a Straight Talk, QWERTY keyboard slider phone, and it does the trick. I guess to sum it up, I'm just a simple man, really. Lol.. I've got a phone with a keyboard, so that humbles me out with texting, and I've got a phone, to make calls, just in-case for emergencies.

I won't lie tho', I am going through a phase where I wanna get rid of my basic phone, and get a smartphone, hence everyone around me has one, and I get envious seeing 'em playing with there phones, and downloading apps and stuff. Lol.. Basically things my phone can't do.

P.S. I want an iPhone. =]

Oh yeah, regardless, if you've got big pockets, go for the expensive phone. If you're conservative, get something that gets the job done, but stays competitive and up to date with all the phones out right now.

Go with what makes you happy and what you like.

I have a Droid X, the wife has an iPhone. We're both happy with our phones, I don't think you can go wrong with either a droid or an iPhone really tbh.

Also, Adobe has killed its support for mobile flash. So flash tech for mobile devices is on its way out. They will not be progressing with it anymore

My wife just picked up the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx...she absolutely loves it.

She was a long time Blackberry user but opted to switch when I said I wanted one.

Never fell in love with the Apple gadgets...too proprietary IMO.

Droid offers a slew of apps as well and ICS Ice cream sandwich OS comes out next month.

Either way, all phones are fairly similar...just personal preference I guess.

The new iPhone 4s is only 16, 32, 64

My iPhone 16gu I have over 500 songs and such and have plenty of room
iPhone 4 they have 8 but if you are getting the 8 gig you won't be able to get tons of music and apps

But make sure to buy the insurance. Ask for the apple insurance if you do,
And if you seem to drop phone get an otterbox..once you drop iPhone one good time screen cracks very essily
