YEP!
I see no other reason to spend that much on a card like that.

guess so. I have 2 of those + 1 of the US 15 black.
Pretty sure I spent less then 27 total for all 3.
If i was an ebay seller Id list my dupe RIGHT NOW for $25
lol

adding a couple comments from the accidental marketplace thread
set builders, plain and simple. when topps products come out, it would probably be a tremendous opportunity to profit by loading up on the black parallels of mets, yankees, and angels...then simply waiting and listing
Maybe the price has something to do with a new bidder that has 14 bids on it and also has no feedback. Not to mention the bidder already has 2 bid retractions. It just seems fishy to me..IMO.
Power of set builders is right! Besides that I like Ike I think he's got alot of potential, also like the card.

Could be that guy that just drives up the prices on Topps blacks and doesn't pay for them on eBay.

Collector's will pay a pretty penny for the Topps Heritage Chrome Black Refractors. Jeters from that set sell for $75.00 and commons for around $10.00/piece. Its amazing what set collector's are willing to pay for a card serial numbered out of 60.

I do too!
I tend to watch cards like this and bid if they stay low.
This is isnt even the RC card, its the "debut" card.
And its not well centered.
Its not like someone is getting a possible BGS 10.
At the least I keep an eye on just about any low# Ike card.
Price is way out of line with what Ive seen these go for,
and for his other topps blacks.

No matter what it takes at least 2 people to drive up the price like that.
Having seen several of these sit on BIN for MONTHS over the last year or like 8-12 bucks , I'm just really surprised to see one go for 30 shipped.

Dunno. I got back in to collecting 4 years ago and while I've made hundreds of trades
I've yet to even try to sell a card to anyone, anywhere.
and yes, ive had buy offers, I just prefer to trade.
Way to leave one hanging letter high. :)
If you say so. i thought it to be a strait forward question

All I meant was that there are a thousand good reasons why people don't sell on eBay, and they get expressed here regularly, so it was a guaranteed easy question to take a swing at. Failed metaphor!

Yeah, I think I'd rather have this card plus the extra $5 for a Subway Footlong:
eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&_trksid=p4340.l2557&hash=item2a181449c9&item=180792609225&nma=true&pt=US_Baseball&rt=nc&si=vGvdpVd2Fr1H7thU1k5vHtolE9M%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc)

Its getting closer to baseball season. Fans are getting cabin fever and are getting anxious for the start of the 2012 official baseball season. I've noticed baseball card sales have doubled over the past month on my ebay store. I've started to sell baseball card inventory that has been sitting around on my ebay store for months, while collectors have been heavily interested in Basketball & Football. Its simply that. Its the off-season and there is not a large baseball card market for collectors in the off-season as you'd think.

You hit the nail on the head. :)!
I will be curious to see if buyer & seller leave feedback for each other
or if the topps black card gets re listed.
