The Griffey/Mantle 1994 dual auto... Is it really that amazing and rare?

I have the ability to buy this card... Is it really worth it? What makes this card such a special card?

Well for starters its Griffey and mantle....dual auto...i don't know much more reason than that...!

Ya it's not numbered, curious how man were made... Seems like there were a lot of single auto'd versions of that card.

There 1000 each of griffey, mantle, and dual (so 3000 total). A LOT of fakes out there, though. People buy the griffey and then fake the mantle auto (his is among the most frequently counterfeited autos). Your best bet is to buy duals that have been authenticated. I recently purchased one and am happy to discuss if youd like.

Out of the 3000 made (1000 Duals, 1000 Mantle's, 1000 Griffey's), there are now probably close to 2000 Duals. You figure it out. It's kind of like the Pujols 2001 Fleer Legacy where Fleer printed all 799 of them to say "Authentic Autograph" on the cards even if they were not the Autographed version. Every person on the planet with a tick of common sense knows that the cards serial numbered 001-300 were the Autographed version, while serial numbers 301-799 were not the Autographed versions. I would say of cards #301-799, probably a solid 75% of those are now magically Autographed, with many even graded by BGS as the Autographed version.

IMO, its on card auto's of the best hitter of my dads generation, and the best hitter of my generation together on one card. My dad idolized Mantle as a kid, and when I was a kid it was Ken Griffey Jr. That card is iconic! IMO, definately one of the top 10 best cards ever produced

I pulled the trigger and just purchased one for myself... Should be here sometime next week. Will post the scans when it arrives! Very excited to have this as part of my collection now. Officially the favorite card I own!

Imo a top 10 card for high end collectors. I will take that card over a mj patch auto. Beautifull design + two of the greatest. At some point I would like to put the set together (but I usually spend all my money on box breaks or Ali lol)

Just so you know the UD coa means zilch when it comes to both autos authenticity, they all came with the same exact coa which didnt mention it being single or dual.

So I'm trying to understand this.

--The original card was made in 1994 and available in packs.
--In 2007, UD took buybacks and packed them into another product, this time with COAs that don't mention single or dual. Did they buy back both singles and duals?

Is there any thought that UD might have bought back duals with fakes?
