Seems like somehow it led to the password for the Abe Lincoln Flocculent Abe twitter account.

I have 2 questions: what was the code and how was it solved?

I'll explain everything once I finish writing the solution :)

Great title. You have the perfect stage..to explain in detail and have us read every word. Yet we get this. The code is solved. No more riddles. Please share the story of how & what was done. I know I'm not alone in this.

Happy to know the three people working on it beat the other three people working on it. Exciting.

Yeah, someone's been impersonating Topps on twitter saying many times it's been solved.

We're just having a little fun, primarily back at the Codemaster himself. We already agreed to post the real link very shortly.

well done, gents! i found their site, for those that don't want to see how many different backwards word combos they can type: First Point of Aries: The 2011 Ginter Code Story (http://noitulosedocretnig1102.blogspot.com/)

That is insane, not only for the guys that cracked it, but for Topps to think of it. If only they paid this much attention to customer service, quality, and redemptions...

It is rather incongrous that Topps can devise something this complex and still do things like
put "2B" where "3B" is supposed to be,
or put an offensive linemans sticker auto on a cam newton card,
or put a Texas Patch In an Atlanta Braves card.

anyways

Congrats to the OP cause I cant even understand the "explanation".

The boys at Bletchley could have used your help about 70 years ago.

Just read through it. I bought a blaster and some packs of A and G and got three clock cards back when retail came out, figured that would be the start.
I have one question though.
Are these words:
http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-j_AcJbLL77g/T0g402ZDLTI/AAAAAAAAABI/MYUHw7hunJM/s1600/AllClues.jpg
actually on the back of cards or are they from some site or something?

Seems ballsy by Topps to have the end of the trail linked to a twitter account that could have been hacked.

They are from sites on topps.com, the main code map came from yrecover.topps.com

A few days ago I did get the 3 angles adding to 99 with 1:14/3:14/9:42 which was all that you really needed to solve the code.

Not that much. Needed to find the 10 true domains from their twitter clues and then could find the other 20 by going through the entire set if you wanted, and then add the angles between with the no decimals all <50 and figure to go diagonal through the map.

See, there is a lot of wrong in those two statements. Don't make it sound so easy.

Once you found the correct 10 websites from the 30 possible ones, ALL websites clues were to be used.

1:14 says the Navigational Star appears in 2h, which points to 3:14. That one in turn says that it appears at the North Pole. And 9:42 gives you the password.

Meanwhile, you still need 2 more clues to find the clue card (no decimal values, and add the values less than 50); you needed to know the clue card was in Hometown Heroes; and I didn't just "figure out" to go in diagonal like you said: the 99x99 map is a star map, as hinted to by the poem. Starting at the first point of Aries means you are standing at the center of that map. Finally, you need 2 more clues to know how to navigate around it: "degrees and hours in equal measure" and "at the edge of the sky, track back from whence you are": that gives the diagonal movement around the center, from the north pole and going east (like said in the poem) by the navigational star value (clue 1:19) of 13, not counting the North Pole "C" itself.

But it was so easy, you had figured it all out yourself, right? Oh wait, maybe I should post all the PM's you sent begging for help...

Right! How can Topps put all of that effort/brains into some code when they can't even foresee that single color patches in a $500 dollar box [5-star] is a bonehead move.

Bravo gentlemen. Nicely done. I remember having those feelings a couple years ago when doing the Code, finally figuring it out and sending in my picture (No I didn't win, was a little late). The excitement when all of a sudden the words/letters/websites pop out on the screen and finally make sense. Bravo.

I don't want to speak for Ryan or Frank; but for my share, a handful of those are PC-forever-not-going-anywhere, the rest I'll most likely move
