Green Bay ends up in the top 10 to get a top pass rusher.
Only one running back goes in the first round.

the biggest shock would be Dallas trading up for Mo Claiborne. Could happen if Jerry falls in love with him, but highly doubtful

The biggest shock would be if the commissioner came out bottomless and started mushroom stamping everyone at the ESPN commentary desk.

My biggest shock would be if Indianapolis drafted a defensive back instead of a quarterback.

for me it would be the Packers trading Flynn for a second or first and moving up. To me there aren't any pass rushing prospect that fit the 3-4

I'm pretty pissed bc I just told my cincy buddies I think trent drops out of top 10 and they trade up for him...and apparently rumor central on espn just released this but I don't even read it. Ugh.

The biggest Shock? Indy not taking Andrew Luck.
This would absolutely be the biggest shock.
All this RG3 stuff reminds me of the 03-04 NBA Draft. LeBron had been the #1 pick since he was like a Freshman in High School - and by the time the draft rolled around you had these "experts" that wanted to be different and talk about how Darko or Carmelo should be the #1 pick because they started finding all LeBron's faults just to make news.
Luck is going #1 and it'll take the Colts 30 seconds to submit the card - I'd bet my house on it.

Agree with this. Although it's not likely it is possible and it could happen. If Indy decides to roll the dice with Manning again and keeps him they financially cannot afford to draft Luck. That would be much too much payroll locked into the QB position for them to sustain anything like a team. It's the same reason I don't see Green Bay Packers franchising Matt Flynn. If the Packers did that they would add another 14 million in cap space on Flynn and if no team does a deal for him they would be on the books with owing him 6 million more this season then they owe the current NFL MVP. In other words it wont happen in my mind. Then again maybe they are ok with it and maybe Indy lets Peyton Manning go to another team and they draft Luck. To me the best answer for the Colts this year would be to not draft Andrew Luck. They keep Peyton and they trade the #1 pick to a team like the Redskins or Dolphins and they get that teams next three years first round picks and other picks in this years draft and trade down. They are a rebuilding team and need lots of pieces. They aren't a QB away, either Luck or Manning from competeting for the title.

The colts should not keep Manning if he wont restructure. Im not saying he should but the colts should not do that. Luck is the Future. Not often a QB comes into the NFL this ready. If manning wants to stay and restructure then sure by all means do that. But you do not pass up the most sure thing in a long time.

I think biggest shock then would be trading rodgers to indy to move up to #1 and pick a punter if thats the criteria

Why havent they signed him already?
Because they've only been allowed to sign him for 10 hours so far...Lets give them a day shall we.
And realistically it hasn't been 10 hours since the coin flips haven't taken place yet I believe.

BB not trading at all is most accurate. If BB does trade, the biggest shock would be if he traded UP in the 1st round to get Maurice Claiborne!

Playing devils advocate here but the term "sure thing" at this time of the year is thrown around way too much, I remember Jeff George, I remember Jarmarcus Russell, hell I even remember that Cam Newton was considered the biggest riskest pick in the NFL draft last year and seeing comment after comment that he was the next bust....
No one really knows what kind of player Andrew Luck will be. But that was never my point to begin with. My point is this. Ask yourself...
Are the Colts a QB away from going deep in the playoffs this year?
If they are NOT which I do not think they are up front then you have two choices...
1. Trade the #1 overall pick for many more picks. Because they are sitting on the top selection they should for sure be able to get a lot of picks for it right? I would expect that they can easily pencil in 6 or more starters trading away the pick.
2. Select the QB of the future with the number one selection. You get one starter this way.
It's that simple to me. 28 million dollars is nothing. Its not your money, that comes from the fans who put thier asses in the seats to watch the games. That same money is more then the committment that the top overall selections contract will cost. It's the idea that you can turn a team around with a good draft. Redskins draft this past year:
1 - Ryan Kerrigan - Stud was in Defensive Rookie of the Year talks
2 - Jarvis Jenkins - Looked amazing in preseason but injury cut short his year
3 - Leonard Hankerson - Looked great in his limited action. 1 game, 100 yards receiving
4 - Roy Helu - Looked great in his limited action. Several 100 yard games rushing
5 - Dejon Gomes - Replaced Laron Landry in last few games, played very well
5 - Niles Paul - Solid special teams player
6 - Evan Royster - Several 100 yard rushing games, looked great
6 - Aldrick Robinson - Very limited action but looked good
7 - Chris Neild - Great production for where he was drafted.
The Redskins had the best draft overall last year then any other team in my opinion. They went into that weekend with just 5 picks, ended up with 12 players, and addressed a combination of offense and defensive needs. A single draft top to bottom can rebuild your team. The Redskins may not have had the splash of a #1 QB and #1 WR like the Bengals had but they found value in every round and contributors at every turn. This is the sort of draft that if you can do it again and again will build a franchise. If this can be done last year it can be done this year.
Smart drafting with a ton of picks and the Colts could well be rebuilt by next years draft. With Luck or without Luck that team must be rebuilt. The more picks you have the better the odds of doing it sooner. The team needs players, they need more then Andrew Luck.
Or they can let him go and watch him join the Redskins. I honestly wouldn't mind that at all.

You can't even put Andre Luck in the same sentence as Jeff George or Jamarcus Russel. Manning is 35 years and has had 4 neck surgeries? He might not be around that much longer. Andrew Luck is the smart choice at #1. You say the redskins had a great draft sure they did, they did find some studs but they did not win. 5 Games all season is terrible, thats why they are back in the top 10 again. You can have great drafts but if you cant win it does not matter. Andrew Luck is a great quarterback and is the #1 pick. Passing him up would be stupid.
