I've been in a "pool" every year since high school. Every year I'll see more and more tips on filling my bracket, but as many others have suggested, is spending all the time doing research on some on the lesser or "sleeper" teams hurting me as much as it helps? I usually don't finalize my picks until hours before the first game but have only won my pool twice in about 10 years, with some poor finishes in between, which is disappointing to me because so many of the people in my bracket are not really basketball fanatics.

Don't over-think it, just go with your gut. I have done SOME researching in my Bracketology experiences, but while I do that, I also go with my gut feeling. There is no such thing as "experts" when it comes to it, because even the "experts" are wrong often. Last year I went with my gut feeling in picking UConn to win it all and they did, thats what won it for me, but I also picked Marquette to upset Syracuse and Arizona to make the Elite 8 and that sealed the deal for me. I picked those teams because my gut told me to, not because I saw anything special in the "research" I did. So go with your gut, thats truly the best strategy!

I just clicked around the screen until all teams were picked. Very scientific.
