I think he is on a one year contract with NY, and if they continue losing, and the divide between him and Melo doesn't get fixed, what teams would be willing to make a play to get him?

Detroit
Indiana
Lakers
Orlando
Phoenix
Portland
Utah

Which team could you see him going to next year if he doesn't re-sign with NY?

whoever will be looking for a solid back up PG that can contribute solid minutes and manage the game.

If you look at the league right now, there is a severe shortage of 'decent to great' point guards on the market. The fact that DJ Augustin is pretty much on the top of the trade talk list right now should say something.

That being said, any and all teams looking for a pg replacement will be chasing Lin...and it wouldn't even surprise me if LA got him. Asian population in LA....team merchanise? Nuff said. Say what you want about his turnovers, etc...he'll still be a decent pg in this league and has proven he can put up points. I can see him averaging 18/8 + for another team once he's improved in the offseason and given full playing time minutes. He's still a rookie for christ's sake...it even took D Rose over a full season to really realize his potential.

I knock the kid alot, but I have always said he is a 15 and 8 type of guy with a occasional offensive outburst here and there. I'm not gonna lie I wouldn't be mad if signed with the Lakers in the offseason. I'm pretty sure he is out of New York after all this recent drama going down though. Especially if he doesn't want his career to go down the sh!tter before it even started.

15/8 definitely sounds very realistic

honestly, if he can just cut down on his turnovers, he can really be a valuable asset to any team that he's on

Heat should sign Lin and trade off Norris Cole. Not joking.

Did knicks just trade for a real pg that i don't know about? NBA is a business and jeremy lin sells more tickets than carmelo and amare combined. I believe they'll trade away amare before they let jeremy lin go. Its all about ticket selling, i mean making the playoffs is nice, but knicks will have a lot of angry fans if they let jeremy lin go.

I think he will go to LA also since a PG is what they need...how could a kid pass up that chance to play for one of the biggest franchises in the NBA? He has jumped around a lot in his short time but he will land a decent deal with LA UNLESS he hears that Jackson is coming into NY to coach cause that might make him want to stay

He will be a restricted FA whenever his current contract expires so there is no way the knicks will let him go.

As usual, the brain dead "sportsitup" and the moronic "alexcampos" put their complete lack of basketball knowledge on full display.

Since Carmelo came back, his shots and touches per game have gone way down, along with his minutes. His production has been just fine and definitely above average.

Apparently you expect less than a third of the shots per game but still the same points. You also expect 25%+ less minutes per game and the same number of assists and points.

He is a starting guard and anyone who doesn't realize as much is simply proving that they know nothing about basketball, but it should be apparent in threads throughout this forum that "sportsitup" and "alexcampos" are about as dumb as they come. Of course, they are much too dumb to even have the ability to recognize just how dense they are.

You shouldn't speak on basketball, as neither you have the slightest clue how the game works.

I agree. And if he is a backup point guard for 10 years, I promise you that Jeremy Lin would be ecstatic.
